I'm sorry but If there WAS a cure I'm sure Steve Jobs, the guy worth more than a trillion dollars would've gotten his hands on the cure.

Steve Jobs tried to cure his cancer by eating a vegan diet. He did this for like 9 months while he let the cancer metastasize instead of getting it treated with actual medicine. I wouldn't take his advice on this stuff.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Steve Jobs was a hippie, he outright rejected science and tried to eat salad and use power crystals to cure cancer. . . . .

Not really, your lungs will still become bad, so overall you still die earlier by smoking.

As for cancer research, good for them.
