Subs already rising?!

With the announcement of 6.2.3, I have already seen an influx of players to the realms that I play on, and even in the server list, I have seen servers that are typically high population as "full" with a wait time to get in.

Is this the beginning of the return of all the subs who took a break? And with Legion right around the corner, will we see even more of a rise in subs?

New content in 6.2.3:

-8 New Timewalking dungeons
-2 New Mounts
-New Gear
-Valor Points
-Uprade gear
-Cross realm mythic raiding
-New PvP season

Legion is not 'right around the corner', as beta hasn't even begun, and then the beta itself will take anywhere between 4-6 months.

Nah. That announcement is just the expected nerf/buf of the ending of a tier. Most excitement feeding right now is BlizzCon and secondarily the movie.

Legion is not 'right around the corner', as beta hasn't even begun, and then the beta itself will take anywhere between 4-6 months.

People will start to come back when the pre-patch hits.

Also, seasons tend to last 26 weeks, so that's about a half-year unless Warlords Season 3 is aborted halfway through like everything else in this expansion.

Right around the corner? Not so much, especially when you see "season 3 pvp" about to release. That alone should give you the estimated time frame of a potential release.

And not trying to sound like a smartass, but you're answering your own question.

Obviously subs are going to rise at the end of an expac, people getting ready for the incoming easy-to-get-gear-so-expac-experience-is--even-easier.

I like everything on that list but cross realm mythic I was a supporter personally but after talking to bacon... I think its kind of a bad idea.

Your realm is "full of life" from an ANNOUNCEMENT of a PTR, of which is not yet live yet and people are coming back to play nothing like they were previously? Yeah okay, sure.

I just had a friend text me that he was re-subbing to the game because of the announcement of 6.2.3. I know its anecdotal but its still one more sub, due to an unreleased patch that was JUST announced.

The realm "Jaylock's Mind" seems to be quite high indeed. No word yet as to what its full of.

The timing of season 3 will impact the release more. They're redoing PvP in Legion, removing gear, so season 3 is not going to end soon. I'm thinking end of Q2 *maybe*, most likely Q3 or later of 2016. Unless they cobble a 6.3 together.
