If an alien race invaded the earth with the sole purpose of wiping us out and making good on the resources that our planet had.
Their technology might be different but humanity still has a fair chance of defending itself.

1. Would this unify the planet (more or less) and stop feuds between countries?

This is speculation as you might imagine, but it's my belief that if there is a civilization advanced enough to reach Earth with invasion on their minds, Earth itself would be wipped in an instant or they would eradicate us faster than we could even devise a plan, even less likely time to "unite".

I guess we would eventually all be united in our extinction.

1. Hell no. If anything, Islamic Extreamists would view the coming Armageddon as a sign that they need to sacrifice all infidels to appease their god. Short term-mindset countries would find a way to capitalize on the war, and France would make them a big landing pad.

2. Enlist? No. Help? Yes. I would pick up an alien laser rifle and fight my own way. I doubt any military commander today knows better than I do, and when the nukes fail against their shields I will sneak inside their mother ship and blast their leader in the back of the head, take the ship, and crash it into the sun.

Odds are that the speed of light is it, we can't go any faster. And if that's true very few aliens are going to want to waste tens of thousands of years to come visit us. If this is true, it's kind of sad cause a lot of us wanted to explore the galaxy.

Theirs nothing special here anyway besides porn and drugs. They can probably manipulate time and space if they can travel huge distances through space, so they'd probably travel through different dimensions and farm there own planet, then reset over and over. Also if they're smart they'd know not to come here, we're like cockroaches but really smart, we'd capture there tech and convert it to use against them. They can't just wipe us out, the only useful shits the stuff that's alive, rocks and metal are easily found elsewhere.

1) Yes it would unify us. The threat of a mutually assured destruction would make them work together so we all don't die. The same thing is why we don't launch nukes.

2) I would enlist even if they weren't pretty even. Seeing as how our very existence is threatened and this isn't some political joke of a war to get more oil or something.
