Basic things are fairly easy to set up. More advanced things may take a bit of work, but you'll quickly get the hang of it.
There tons of videos out there with tuorials. Have a look at some of them to get the basic feeling for it. Another good source is looking at WeakAuras from other users. You can import them and have a look on how they've done it.

edit: And if you've got some practice you can do a ton of things with WeakAuras.

The default cps have a useless built in fade-in animation. You can have them show up instantly with any combo point tracking addon (or make a WA).

If you like bar timers I can recommend RoguePowerBars, despite it being old it still works and it's super easy to configure.

I have a WA for my CP's there is a delay there also

You use sabre slash you get a CP then as soon as the proc does damage (the second swing) you get the second CP its so annoying

I just ElvUI and give every buff a different color, but really the only buff you should care about is... Waters which increases your crit chance where you "should" be using Between the Eyes on CD because it will do a ton more dmg than Run Through when it crits.

The only buff you should really care about? Get True Bearing before Adrenaline Rush and its back to a 1 minute cooldown!

How do you guys think this spec fares against assassination in 5 mans ? On single target i can do about 10k more dps in assassination. So either outlaw is far behind or i must be dong something horrifically wrong. More or less using the rotation posted on icy-veins

My experience is that the rng comes out ahead most pulls. But i also reroll rtb when i get single buff grand melee, and single buff true bearing (only rerolling single TB if AR/MfD aren't up)

5mans it's not even a contest really. outlaw ahead.

I topped dps on mythic archie as outlaw last night. 24.83mil(7.9% vs second place@21.69mil(6.9%). 2nd was a DK.

i'm not saying it's definitively better than the other two specs, but right now, my real world exp shows outlaw pulling ahead.

    My toon is Lanre-Jaedenar.

I just published a video where I reviewed the Outlaw Rogue overall. Nothing hardcore, just a general look at it and what I think since it's my main.

I'm very much enjoying this spec. I hope that it remains viable in Legion because I find it a lot more fun than Subtlety and Assassination.

    Sup guys.
I've made a thread regarding RoTB.
Hopefully it'll be read by blues.
Take a look at it yourself, and provide feedback please.

I would have really liked to see the complete removal of Slice and Dice (it's a boring ability) instead of it turning into a Talent, Killing Spree and Death from Above also don't fit the class fantasy so these need to go as well not to ignore that both abilities are kind of stupid to begin with, DfA is slow and the animation annoying and Klling spree isn't quick enough either and being unable to move away for so long can go terribly wrong.

Roll the Bones needs to get reworked to have less buffs at max, also one buff less you can roll. Grand Meele should be combined into other buffs. Though honestly It would be a lot more sensical if you could always only roll ONE buff max and in exchange for that the buffs would be a lot more "powerful" and probably also enjoyable this way as every buff would be comparable in power but simply change your playstyle a bit which is IMO what Roll the Bones should have aimed for, not this total RNG idea of dmg.

What are some decent rule of thumbs I should know when it comes to keeping and rerolling RtB buffs?

The energy speed, and combo point buffs are really the only ones worth keeping as a solo buff (depending on AR cooldown, TB might be worth keeping), grand melee is basically garbage (energy regen from OH/Mastery is the only thing that saves it), almost any two buffs are worth keeping, aaaaand that's all I can think of right now.
    Again, general rule of thumb

So are we supposed to play with 2 swords or is mainhand sword, offhand dagger better? Is outlaw looking good for legion or is the rng aspect deadly for progression?

Slow/slow if you have them, otherwise slow/fast. It wont matter in legion.

Management of rng and the rtb buffs will be integral. Rng wont be any better or worse than it is with soulcap/prophecy of fear procs. Just make the fullest use of what you can get, and reroll buffs as needed

Will outlaw be viable for competitive raiding compared to Assassin? Sure play what you enjoy, but what will be most effective for raiding? The AOE is better on outlaw ofc but there is other classes who do aoe better, to be attractive the ST dmg have to be there still. Been trying to read up last month and it looks like there is a 20% drop in ST dmg to go outlaw.

What spec will the progress / ranking guild rogues go? Anyone in a mythic raid guild who can share he's/her thoughts?

Alright, thanks man! I really enjoy the spec but, the dps on assasination seems to be allot better on single target bosses. I will just try to get 2 swords for now so i can test it better. Hopefully legion will be balanced enough that we can play our spec of choice!

The dps is relative - this week in mythic HFC i was able to beat or equal the other rogue on each fight that he was in (admittedly he was playing sub). And on M-Archi i topped dps by a fairly good margin as outlaw.

I did do pulls as assassination but foudn its damage didn't keep up with what i could do as outlaw. I'm going to be giving it another try next week and try to optimize damage for ring similar to how we had to do for sub in WoD, ill see where that gets me.

I don't know if this will help, nor do I know if they changed it as I've had this addon since 2014, but all combo points usually appear after a 30ms delay. This addon removes that delay and also works with the Anticipation talent. I don't remember how I got it, prob from AJ or EJ.

I read your post , some good ideas in here , I took SnD at the start just because when i saw the 90% attack speed i was like defo needs this . Then i read that you need roll the bones as its a dps loss not to have it. yet when i dont have SnD the game play feels so damn slow i dunno.

Am hoping some of you guide makers post a new legion outlaw guide and what talents are the best etc ! , till then i'll continue to read up and play around with the talents myself
