    New Build, Need Advice

Im looking to build my own mid-gaming computer for under $700, and just looking for advice on compatible parts, and if this setup looks decent...taking into consideration i know nothing about computers, and all of this is collected info from a number of websites:

    CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard --- (not exactly sold on this....any alternatives?)
    Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (suitable?, any cheaper?)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 380 4GB Video Card
Case: VIVO CASE-V01 ATX Mid Tower Case ( any cheaper? I couldnt care less if these parts were glued to the inside of a garbage can)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
Optical: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ( can I salvage the Optical from my old comp....its about 4 yrs old)

Any evaluation would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Can you provide the actual pcpartpicker link?

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the case as a budget dump with today's egg-fryers, I mean video cards, but meh.

You should be able to reuse your old DVD burner.

Mobo seems all right but you might find it's kind of a pain in the ass to make cables reach from a micro board in a mid case.

If you stretch your budget a bit you could get a hybrid SSHD from Seagate with twice the capacity and far better performance than the WD.

    Other choices are solid.
OMG 13:37 - Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Cleave unto me, and I shall grant to thee the blessing of eternal salvation."

And His disciples said unto Him, "Can we get Kings instead?"

Is there an alternative MoBo? PCpartpicker noted there might be room issues with the VidCard w/ micro tower.

Edit: doing some looking around would this be appropriate: Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard?

I would do something like this, with a few caveats.

-I know it's more than 700, however XFX puts their PSU's on sale regularly for ~$25.
-I know there's no 3rd party cooler. Just use the stock cooler at stock settings until you can swing to afford the $30-40 for a proper one. You could even OC to 4.0 with stock.
-I know there's no HDD, I feel it's more important to get an SSD up front, and get the storage drive later when you can afford the $50-80 for it.
-ALL of this stuff may end up being cheaper come uh... next week. Black Friday/Cyber Monday

    PCPartPicker part list

Besides what Chazus said about ssd/hdd you can fit a skylake setup, if the 25$ is a problem drop the 6600cpu to 6500 one. 650w isn't need it but its on sale atm.

That isn't a problem tho, i mean if you buy 2x4gb sticks instead of 1x8, since there are 4dimms and he won't be needing 32gb for sure

This is the build I'd propose, which is slightly lower-quality than Kostattoo's build, but IMO offers better value for that budget:

IT comes to ~$750 before rebates, and has most of the things that Kos' build offers.

I would just switch to a crucial SSD.
