    You'll grow up some time.

You shouldn't be acting like as if you weren't born with a silverspoon in your mouth if you're born into a rich family. Lots of the rich people I know act exactly like that.

So that redistribution part .. how do you go about that exactly? It involves taking stuff away from one person and giving it to another.

Who decides what to take away from people? Who is given that much power? How do you keep this person from being corrupt and re-distributing things "wrong"?
If you have checks and balances intended to keep him in line, to keep him from re-distributing things "wrong", how do you prevent these checks and balances being abused by some people to influence the guy into doing the exact opposite and still re-distributing things "wrong"?

Okay, we can't give the power to a single person or a small group of people. We have to do this smarter. How about we put the power in the hands of all people, make it a majority thing?

Do you just want to let the majority decide how to re-distribute things? How did that work out in the past? The majority decided to have slavery for a long, long time. The majority decided to have witch hunts. So just giving the majority to the power to re-distribute at will doesn't really work either.

So we still need protection about the majority going crazy. How do we do that? Right, we give each individual person inalienable rights that even the majority can't take away! Each person has a right to freedom, a right to be free of bodily harm from any other person. That way the majority can't screw them over.

Now the majority is not allowed to inflict harm to any individual, we fixed all the problems. Great! So back to the initial idea ... you wanted to redistribute wealth? Sorry, you can't do that without inflicting harm to an individual (taking away his stuff, threatening him with prison if he doesn't comply). But we just established in the paragraphs above that inflicting harm to individuals is bad and won't do any good at all. So your re-distribution is out, no can do.

Guess we just have to live and let live. Let people be free, let people make their own decisions and let them live with the consequences of these decisions. Thanks for turning into a capitalist, I knew you would see the light!

Why does it matter how they act? Is this not a free country? You cant control how someone acts just because its different from you and you don't like it.

Because they're entirely unaware or ignorant of the struggles of those born into the worker class, into a heavily indebted family where you barely get by every month. Then act all smug about them being born into a well-off family.

You must be an extremely lucky charm if you know multiple people that were rich from winning lotteries. Just saying. Also people that inherited it generally means that their Parents worked extremely hard for it to allow their children to have easier lives.

"I know about" doesn't mean that I know them personally...

Merit is nice and all but it is rarely the case that life works out as a meritocracy.

Humans are too human for equity.
