I know I said I wasn't happy about the Ashbringer variants...

But this tier is so damn on point. A+ on all of the armor I've seen so far.

    SHO GEWD.

#1: The patterns on it don't feel forced. If you look at some tier sets, the patterns are just repeated and some don't even make sense. This however has unique designs throughout the set that still match the concept and form a complete wonderful set of armor.

#2: The helmet isn't larger than the body. Tier 13 and Tier 16 I'm looking at you.

#3: The boots, gloves, and shoulders can be used on other mog sets if people don't agree with the rest, due to the limited colors on them, making them easier to match up with previous sets and pieces.

#4: The set colors go back to paladin roots of the dungeon set 0.5!

Dang it. This just screams "paladin". I thought T17 one was unbeatable, but this is amazing.

Just say no to dresses masquerading as plate armor.

The rest is pretty cool but, not a fan of skirts on paladins. It doesn't help my "class fantasy".

"Plate skirts" as you put it screams class fantasy for me, haha. I love them. They are part caster, part melee. They use spells to augment their own physical force. They get the in between. Plate robes! I know this has been discussed before though, but it's not a skirt or robes, it's just due to limitations in the game that they look like that.

    Regardless I love it.

I hear ya. But those limitations are there and I don't care for them. Now the helm and shoulders? Nom nom nom nom nom

Why no real paladins (in warcraft universe of course) have skirt then? Uther, Turalyon, Arthas, Tirion... all used pure plate greaves and boots, no robes at all! But for some reason we became skirt wearing spellcasters in game... strange as hell

At least they are fixing the spellcasting issue, to some extent... but skirts really are nonsense

We are still in plate legs, etc. However we have this stuff over it.

Found it when seeing a priest tier 19 preview. I just looked at who posted it on youtube.

That is mostly fan-art and half are not from Warcraft... actual blizz images, ingame NPCs and stuff from lore and everything... none has any skirts at all! Only tabard thats hanging around, and we already have that!

Also, i mean also in world of warcraft, where tirion was changed to skirt later too... all statues of uther, turalyon and such dont have skirts, arthas(paladin) in game also doesnt have skirt!
There, all notable paladins that have/had appeared in WoW as well... as Gavinrad didnt as far as i know didnt appear in WoW, but in warcraft he didnt have skirt either :P

Love it. Such a huge improvement from flappy-blades (current tier).

T2, T3 and T6 were my favorites, though this one is hard to beat. Love it!

This one is perfect. It's actually one of the best sets i've seen in game.

I am a massive fan of this set. I'm not against the 'dress' thing, but I do wish they could implement the whole robe around the legs. They've done it on NPCs, just look at Khadgar and Anduin's new model, they aren't in skirts. Regardless, it still gets a 10/10 from me

I don't like the helm and the chest. The chest I can probably fix with a tabard and I can hide the helm, so it is still a great and wonderful set. Very happy with it.

But Blizzard needs to start pairing helms better.
This helm, screams HEAVY PLATE ARMOR and yet it is paired with a robe/skirt
They made the same mistake with Tier 10. The helmet is awesome of T10 and then they went and made the chest and legs a robe and look very clothlike instead of plate reinforced armor.

I don't mind robes (T10, T8 and T2 are still my favorite tiers in fact), But blizzard needs to learn that Robe/skirt sets need to come with a less Plate like helm (see T8 and T2 whose helm fit the style of the robe) whereas cool helmets like these and that of T10 need to be put on a pants set with more plate than cloth!

    Just my 2cts
WoW characters that need/deserve to get killed/punished/otherwise removed from the story: Tirion(dead now), Thrall, Malfurion, Sylvanas(soon?), Jaina, Tyrande

    mop-cm xmog > wow

  19. #19
The MoP CM xmog is definitely good, and has that paladin theme, but this set is just amazing. Not sure if I'd say this set surpasses the mop cm set, but it is absolutely amazing. Also using plate robes isn't something that's unrealistic. I'm a fan of both robes or just the legs, so however they do that I'm fine. It's just such a nice set.
