    [7.0]Preliminary Legion Hunter Discussion/Mechanics/Information

I got the alpha/beta thing. You can only create demon hunters for now, but I'll try to put things that seem relevant on here asap (you can get the basic abilities and talents on other sites).

Don't sulk if you're not in the beta. The first wave that went out this evening was for "people who know people" and people who write for fansites and such. I think only a few hundred got in.

Few people also means little content, so it might be quiet for a bit.

That means we can get relevant hunter content without searching for it atleast.

I wonder if people who preorder legion will get some kind of prio for beta..

I doubt it. If you've already bought the game, then they can't earn money by hyping you with a beta invite.

If you are in a high end Mythic guild(AKA cleared 13/13 Mythic a month ago), you should be getting a Beta invite within a month or two. They want cutting-edge players to test the game and provide feedback on class balance, was like this the last beta, our entire guild got an invite.

Also in the alpha. Once there's something worth looking at in particular about hunters I'll post about it.

Not sure if you've posted this elsewhere, but do you have any initial thoughts on the three specs from what we can see so far at least? Or are you holding judgement until we actually see Hunters in action?

I wonder about weapon traits for hunter, too bad you can play only demon for now.

if you mean weapon skills, we already have those

getting access to maces would be nice for transmog and such but probably unlikely since the artifact is a polearm

note: both 1h and 2h swords and axes can be equipped, and polearms can be transmogged to staves/2h axes/2h swords/other polearms

Only based on the previews, not talents.

As some of you have seen from the other class's Artifact weapon talents, they will change the specs dramatically. Before doing any further judgement, we should just wait until the Artifact Weapons are unlocked in the Beta.

Artifact weapons are known to contain these different effects:
-Huge Passive effects(Affliction Warlock Passive Can be either DPS related or Utility, like DKs get "ankh")
-Small Passive effects( eg. +5% crit chance on Arcane Shot/Mongoose Bite/Cobra Shot )
-Abilities that you can use as big DPS CDs(Affliction Warlock Ability)

Marksmanship also means skill of using a bow or a crossbow. The word wasn't invented in the 20th century.

Also Beast Mastery getting a gun is more closer to the real-life Hunters nowadays. You don't go hunting without a Rifle or a Hunting Dog.

Who gives a flying fuck what the wiki definition is. Blizzard made it a gun, crying about it achieves no purpose other than continuing to perpetuate bitching and whining. Don't bitch and whine.

Who cares what weapon huneters have as long as they're good.

If the lore of having a gun/bow takes away from your gameplay experience go put a blanket over your head and rock back and forth chanting "muh lore" until you pass out.

Reading a book's cover is not the way to gather info.

Within weeks of Legion going live half the hunters will be right back to running around with their Golden Bow t-mogs again anyways.

OT: I am disappointed that SV wont be DW'ing come Legion as ive always considered 2H's something that plebe Arms warriors and Ret pallies do*. Oh well.

(* 2H windfury quad-crit-splosion Enhance Shamans did 2H better than anyone. Ever.)

while i love the bow for marksmanship, i have to agree that it would be more fitting with the gun for marksmanship, and not BM. For one simple reason:

Sniper training. i guess it's possible to snipe with a bow somehow. but it's darn more effective with a gun with a scope. witch the bm gun, atleast the lvl 110 version of it, just so happens to have. A gun generally have longer range than a bow aswell, witch again fits the marksmanship hunter better than the beastmaster.
