Turkey shoots down fighter jet violating their airspace

    http://www.theguardian.com/world/201...der-with-syria

Turkish F-16 fighter jets shot down a war plane of unknown origin on Tuesday after it violated Turkish air space close to the Syrian border and ignored warnings, a Turkish military official told Reuters.
This is going to be interesting.

There's a video of the incident at this twitter account

If it's true that Turkey shot down a fighter then it's probably Russian. Turkey and Saudi Arabia are upset with Russia cause Russia is killing Sunnis in Syria.

I don't know they are probably ready to get a bit nasty behind the scenes?

Yes, Putin will rage and the Russian news will tell that the F-16 was in Syrian air, and it back to normal, A few months later then
it emerges that the Russian air campaign did not destroyed IS, Putin will blame Turkey becuse the russian bombers have to fly around Turkey.

Russia was really fast with acknowledging the plane was Russian.
Most likely they as well as everyone else just want to put and end to it right there, it was only one plane and there are far more important topics next week for both Russia/Syria and the western coalition that cant afford any distractions.

Noone will be interested in making a big fuzz out of this.
But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

Well considering that quite a lot of Su-24 use market GPS guidance kits.... but yeah, NATO should do this more often.
A lot more often. Like every time they breach our borders just by one meter.

They have every right to do so.

Apparently, Turkish forces made 10 warnings over 5 minutes, with no reaction from the Russian jet. Probably the Rus are testing NATO's red line.

Will be interesting how this ties into the debacle that is Turkish Stream.

Plane went down in Syria. Russia claims they can prove they didn't violate Turkish airspace. If they are correct, the rabid morons around Erdogan should be kicked out of NATO.

Well, I think now Russia finally found out, what others might think of the airspace trolling they do. I'm sure they are going to reduce doing that.
