    CPU-Z won't recognize my overclock

As of late i tried overclocking my CPU again but nothing appears to happend.

No matter what i do the core speed seems to be locked at 4.2 ghz.

I tried resetting to default speed which is 3.5 Ghz but it still says 4.2 when i open.

Seems to be stock on that core speed.

    Dunno what to do?

    I'm confused.

If stock is 3.5, and it's 'stuck' on 4.2, and you're trying to overclock.... What exactly is the issue? As Ghazh said, need details as to what is going on.

make sure to disable any tools like Gigabytes easy tune, or MSI afterburner (?) from booting up at start.
us msconfig to ensure that its not starting up on boot.

    Set Bios to safe defaults.

    Check CPU-Z
