Especially in quick match. I'm sitting on 3500 mmr, and i've won against and lost against every single hero in the game, multiple times. Including hammer, murky, gazlowe.
QM play entirely relies upon whether or not your team mates watch their map and secondarily upon whether they watch pings.
"Hey, diablo and tyrande just left mid lane."
*spams retreat on zagara top lane, who can already see them coming with creep*
*zagara gets savaged from 5 different angles*
The vast, vast, vast majority of QM losses come because people do not check their fucking map. They die, repeatedly, and let us snow ball into a lead. Then, because they're probably 2500-3000 mmr, they make the mistake of fighting 2-3 levels down, or fighting into heroics without their own.
Case and point: I just finished a game where the enemy nova died 17 times in a 21 minute game. The Lunara 9. I literally went from lane to lane, W, Q, R, as a li ming and deleted them. Repeatedly.
The amount of kills i've seen the enemy miss because they do not watch their map. Its actually become a thing now to just stand behind enemy bases and kill their wells, because there isnt a chance in hell they'll check their minimap on their side of the map.

Addtionally i'd like to point out i'm almost an exclusive quick match player. I have tried hero league a bit. I understand that I do better there but I prefer having a full choice over my hero. I don't like being pigeon holed into support or tank.

In QM, over 1200 games, I have 53-54% win rate. I usually duo queue with my gf. We don't compliment each others heroes, only very rarely will we pick heroes that work well together. Both of us have this win rate even though we've played probably 300 games solo (her, probably 600-700 solo)
I'd argue that if your average win rate is below 50%, YOU are the problem.
QM Match making at the end of the day will always put one team at a disadvantage. So will hero league, the only difference is you get to trash talk the guy who picked tyrael solo tank, or the first pick illidan. QM, with chat muted, has reduced my stress in this game immeasurably. Before that, i'd be tilting after 3-4 games due to chat alone.
I reckon the only problem with QM right now is MMR carrying. Another problem not with QM itself but with all game types is the unability to forfeit. How many games have you had were you enter, someone immediately lags out. 5 minutes in you're 2 levels down from the bot feeding, and another member of your team leaves? I've been in at least a dozen of those games. I say make a rule that if 2 of your team are bots for over 2 minutes, you can forfeit and get a flat 50k exp, winners get 150k. Leavers get none.
As for 'mmr carrying' well, i'm sort of an abuser of this. My GF wants the vulture mount. We don't feel like abusing some friends into playing hots, or doing it through some buddy system on a forum. She created 4 accounts.
3500 MMR Li Ming duo queueing at entry MMR. Do I need to explain the problem?
This also has the opposite effect. About 50% of the games, we'll enter into a game where the enemy team seems semi lucid, around 2500 MMR or so. What this means is remember those Azmodans that chase people and think they're a zeratul at your high mmr QM games? Well, those guys are probably being carried into high MMR on accident by a friend. A terrible player out of his league can really make a game boring. The same way if your opponents healer leaves, the win even feels boring as fuck. You're fighting a prolonged 4v5 for 20 minutes because they outcomp you so you can't just turbo down their base, for example. A terrible one lane all game player with 10 deaths by the 15 minute mark is the same, arguably worse than a bot. This again relates into the surrender button idea.
Now yes, the surrender button will have its issues. Of course. This is why I want to impose the rule of "If two of five team members are absent, a countdown will begin. At the end of the two minute countdown, a surrender vote will appear for the remaining 3 players" Think World of Warcraft "this battleground does not have enough players, and will close in 2 minutes" only this vote is consensual. Me and my two team mates might think we can take these total dogshit TLV, Murky, Abathur, Diablo, Raynor comp. We get to vote on it. Or, if we'd rather play a real game, no harm done.
