Secondary Monitor Lag/Disconnecting Issues

Greetings fellow geeks,

For some reason I can't find out why I am having the issue I am experiencing. Whenever I have something pulled up on my second monitor, such as a Twitch stream, or Skype video call, I get very bad lag on my primary monitor. Whereas I normally get 144+ FPS on WoW when nothing is open on my second monitor, as soon as a video is playing on my second monitor it drops to about 40-50 FPS. I'm trying to figure out if this is normal, or if there is a setting that needs to be adjusted etc. Or possibly if I need to upgrade some of my rig. Also, sometimes when I open up an Internet page while on WoW, I will disconnect.

Here are my specs:

Intel i5 4670k CPU
MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate MoBo
Gigabyte G1 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 GPU
240GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD (about 75% full)
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM
EVGA Supernova 750W PSU

BenQ XL2420Z 144Hz primary monitor (via DisplayPort)
HP 2159m 60Hz secondary monitor (via DVI)

Try turning of hardware acceleration for the video you are trying to play.

Is there a way to do this with Skype as well?

It is a glitch when running different refresh rates on multiple monitors. Go into the graphics card settings and enable/disable scaling and it should go away.
