Sounds like a beginning of a depression - you should talk to your doctor about how you are feeling- stress and everything.
About Christmas spirit - I started hating Christmas when I was a teenager (31 now) and it was mainly because it became "to much of everything -everywhere". People trying to sell Christmas makes me sick - that is not what it is about.
I got 2 kids and we got a tiny bit of decorations for their sake. And yes later we will get a tree to put lights on , and we are going to see family and friends for Christmas and it will be fine. But no, no spirit more like a feeling of Christmas suffocation here..

My family is in italy and my boyfriend is with his parents at Christmas so I'm gonna be entirely on my own Christmas day and likely will just sit and play games or something. Not any point in "celebrating" on my own so not even bothered this year.

At least there's time off work!

I'm not in the holiday mood.

I rarely am, but this year... I just found out today that they've started laying people off at work. I've heard it was coming for a few weeks now, but I was led to believe it wouldn't happen until after the first of the year. This evening I got word that they started laying people off on dayshift and second shit.

I work the weekend crew, supervisor, and I'm worried I may go in to work in a couple of hours and be sent home or be told that I have to lay off some of my employees. I don't want to lose my job, and neither do I want to have to lay someone else off right before Christmas.

    Good thing: Some days off

Bad thing: Visiting family members I don't really care for

Meh, haven't enjoyed Christmas in a while. The snow continues to look pretty though, pretty fun to walk in my town.

Not to be that guy, but the degradation of Christmas as PC warriors slowly take over the world has had a very strong impact in recent years.
    It's pronounced "Dur-av-ian."

Xmas is never 'exciting' or 'magical' for me anymore. It's just some time off work and a nice roast dinner.

Our family is small so its just a little get-together then its over. If you have a big family gathering and kids etc I'm sure its more of a thing.
Most of my colleagues just say it's a stress - buying presents and coordinating that epic feast.

Just enjoy the time off and hang out with your family. Or if you don't have family/friends around try visiting somewhere new for a couple of days like a city break or something.

After my family pissed me off so bad I couldn't see strait for week at Thanksgiving, I'm not in the spirit. I probably won't ever be now.

No, you are not the only way. I'm exactly the same. My family (Cousins, aunties etc.) are doing Secret Santa and I pretty much told them I want zero part in (However, they're still making me do it) and the thought of having to be around family makes me sick to my stomach. I'm honestly contemplating jumping in the car away driving away to be on my own for the weekend.

Christmas always bring out the worst in me because it makes me realize how bad my family are, how much certain aspects of my life suck, and how fabricated it has all become because all the people around me care about is gifts.

The best Christmas I had was my first one abroad last year. No family that were even remotely close to me. I had myself, a few clothes friends and a girl at the time that was a fling. No presents, no bullshit drama. Just peace and quiet with the people I care about.

Christmas was actually started by the Roman pagans :P And as an atheist, I still celebrate Christmas, but not for anything having to do with Jesus. Can still enjoy decorating a tree, gift exchanging and baking Christmas cookies without any religious undertone to the occasion.

This year I'll pretend to have the holiday spirit -- and give away a couple more copies of Fallout 4 to the population of MMO-Champion. Next year I'm taking my wife's advice and we're going to Bermuda.

I don't mind it when I'm off. I just hate it while I'm at work. People are just way too rude this time of year in retail. They don't use common sense and flip out if things don't go their way.

thats because commercialism and people have turned a day to be with the family into a "rush to your local store and get the best deal"...

personally, i grew out of holidays a long time ago...

when i want something, i ask for it or go get it myself....

all it is now, for most people, is a day off work when they might get a gift or two....

I watched Dogma last night, does that count? That movie is sooooo good.

Same here. I've never felt those holiday spirits. I don't hate christmas at all, except when I enter a store mid-October and there is christmas decoration all over the place...

Not having any snow outside is kinda killing it for me, but I love the good food and family time.

Depends on what I'm given. No other factors.
