I think I just got one of those. I died as my turret scored a triple kill and that was the Play of the Game.

Mercy is the best support. Lucio is too passive, Zenyatta isn't focused enough on support, and Symmetra doesn't have a heal.

she does, but as OAM and others have pointed out in many of their videos on the matter. mercy suffers more from being harassed and a non organized team.

That only really applies in a slow game, Overwatch is much faster and everyone has guns. Getting to the support can easily be a case of just sliding past the defenses quickly. A one-for-one when one player is a damage dealer and the other is a support weighs heavily against the team who just lost a support.

I play scout enough in TF2 to know that all you need is two shots on the medic to stop a push completely.

yes and no. The problem with Overwatch (its not really a problem) is that you have heroes wich are made for harassing backline and support, Tracer, Reaper and Genji comes to mind. they are highly mobile heroes who can with little to no effort sneak past your frontline and take out your support before retreating.

Mercy, unlike Zenyatta & Lucio also needs to stay relatively close to her target, the tether stays on a few sec after leaving the range before it breaks, but you need to keep an eye on your target. this can force you into bad positions because of bad teammates. Lucio & Zenyatta on the other hand does not suffer from this as they pretty much go where they feel like.

In competitive TF2 this is actually the only thing scouts do: Suicide into the enemy team and take down their medic. Even if they die afterwards they still did their job proper. I love it dude.
