lol is it a 100% WoD because I'm the first one to vote?
WoD is the only expansion where I have a reason to log on daily (gold missions).

Vanilla: didn't know what I was doing...just had a blast cannibalizing scarlet crusaders.
TBC (the end of): my only motivation was to reach lvl 55 so I could play a DK in wrath.
WotLK: World PvP breathed it's last breath.
    Cata: Loved it, but..Firelands.
MoP: The prettiest expac, but school was more important.
    WoD: Gold farmers paradise.

Wait, do you mean to say that you thought fireland was bad? Ragnaros was the highlight of that extension Oo

WotLK IMO because it was the best all rounder:

Warlords of Draenor pretty much sucked across the board apart from some cool raid encounter design, it was the only expansion to feel "over" after a few months aside from two new raids being implemented.

Cataclysm had better dungeons than WoD, better raids (coolness/theme, not encounter design), more were added as time went on keeping them fresh, it had flying, it had valor (type system) from the offset, etc.

Mists of Pandaria had better questing and world design than Cata, the 5 mans were on par, the raids were cool and the encounter design great, the zones like lightning/timeless isle were great for questing/etc.

The Burning Crusade had better questing than MoP, the dungeons were also still relevant throughout the expansion but the were more of them so more varied, and the theme was excellent.

Wrath of the Lich King beats MoP slightly IMO because the addition of 10m made the raiding scene better plus the were more raids, and it added more new 5 man dungeons as time went on than TBC did. This was the games high point IMO.

I've only been playing since the final days of Wrath, but the expansion that held my attention the most, felt the most involved, and has the best memories for me was MoP.

Oddly, I'm discovering that end-of-expac content lulls have the best moments for me and my friends. I guess maybe the lack of things to do culls out a lot of people and makes us a tighter group. We mostly PvP and RP sometimes, so we basically create our own content/activities.

WoD has the best questing experience, although I don't like all its zones. I think MoP had the best designed zones--they all kind of make sense geographically and really mesh together in terms of culture, economics, agriculture, history, the interactions of the races, etc. MoP's stories and lessons are also some of my favorite and something I feel TBC largely lacked, which was mostly about clashing big baddies and goodies together.

Wrath had some of the most *epic* zones, although some of their designs were a bit annoying (too large, too much of some subzones that could've achieved the same ends with much less walking/mobs, too repetitive--TBC had a lot of this). Wrath had awesome villains, something MoP more lacked aside from Garrosh--the Sha felt more like a force of nature. Troll stuff was and is amazing.

I wasn't on yet during TBC, but I slow leveled through all of it in early cata, level locking, using only TBC mats/crafted stuff, level drops, etc. I didn't even fly for most of it for full immersion. I'm incredibly nostaglic for that time and love Hellfire questing to this day even though it has almost no story telling like modern zones.

In terms of music, WoD takes the cake, followed by MoP, then Wrath, Cata, etc. Music is more narrative than it has ever been, diverse in instruments, themes, artists, etc. It truly is the only thing that is reliably better each expansion for me and I own all the soundtracks. That isn't to say any of them are bad, they're just all increasingly good.

In terms of gameplay... I've almost exclusively played mage, aside from Pally at the end of MoP and more recently a little lock. I HATED mage gameplay in all of MoP--just a bunch of spamming skills in chains that have no connection to each other, ugly as fuck, insta casts with CDs, no movement...ugh. WoD is better in terms of Mage gameplay, aside from Arcane being 4 buttons. I'm in the Legion alpha and fire feels so awesome although it obviously has room for definition, improvement, and finalization. Can't wait to see the other specs.

Could only select one, so voted MoP. My answer would be Wrath of the Lich King + Mists of Pandaria on the same line.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

It's probably rose-tainted glasses but I would say WotLK. Best memories, and I love snow.

LK>MoP>BC/CATA (tied) > WoD. By far my best time and memories come from LK.

    BC > WotLK > Cata > MoP > WoD

Wait, you wanted to know the "highest quality" not the "best"?
    Hands down: Cata.

-Cata was a big revamp of everything old.
    -New questing mechanics
    -FUN quest lines
    -New talent system
-Not as grueling to level as the previous expansions
    -Fun spells/abilities at level 10
-Devs realized how boring auto-attacks were for generating rage.
-Dark Apotheosis, Mortal Strike generating rage, big Feral bleeds, tanky Combat Rogues, Camouflage, bursty Shadow Priests...
    the list goes on.

This was incredibly easy: MoP > Wrath > BC > WoD > Vanilla > Cataclysm

There was just something about how accessible yet complex Pandaria felt that made it great. I didn't feel forced to rush and enjoyed the content at my pace. Also, world PvP. It was absolutely fantastic after the near death it experienced in Cata. The rare spawns and the zone design also lent themselves amazingly for giant faction brawls. That and the countless content they added for PvP, PvE, and, surprisingly, solo (Brawler's Guild, Proving Grounds, Pet Battles) enhanced the game like never before to me. It all just worked really well together.

To me, based purely on personal experience, the guilds I was at and what I got to see, it was Vanilla > WotLK > WoD > BC. I had no fun with Cata or MoP. I know people dislike WoD but a ton of people came back for it and I was able to get together with a bunch of friends I hadn't seen in years; even if it lasted 8-10 months until they started un-subscribing, it was a great experience.

Wait, not the raid, that dailies area where you had to unlock things. I wasn't digging it.

    TBC > (vanilla) > MoP > WotLK > Cata > WoD

I didn't have enough time to be a serious raider during TBC, but I still had things to do that weren't brain-dead level of easy. I've thoroughly enjoyed playing through heroic dungeons (and I don't know what servers people here are playing, but for me getting a group didn't take any longer than today's LFG queue).

Server communities were still a thing, world PvP was still a thing, flying was hardly a factor design-wise and the game still had its RPG elements.

Without a doubt the best time in the game's lifespan.

WoD clearly. BC we were ready to raid. WotLK we rocked the house. Cata and MoP we disbanded and dropped into hopping servers to find players to have fun.
WoD suddenly everyone logged back in or found his way back. Not a single raid cancelled ... not even during summer. Lots of stuff to do and I've not even had time to level my dear undead priest because my dwarven priestess sucks in all the time. I've still plenty to do before Legion hits.

Nice to see more positive posts regarding WoD. It definitely wasn't a bad expansion. People just like to jump aboard the Heroic Hate Train.

    Best, WoTLK easily.

My favorite expansion will probably always be TBC though.

Fun wise and also somewhat TBC with the real heroics, lore wise Wrath then.

TBC imo. Wrath had ulduar which i loved but every other raid tier was pretty lacking that expansion imo. Naxx sucked, ToC wasn't great and ICC lasted 12 months. It also had wintergrasp which was cool. TBC had the benefit of having 10 mans to do on off nights (which weren't just copies of the 25 mans with different numbers).

    TBC > Wrath = MoP > Cata >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Warlords
