"Mansplaining" now a legit word in the Swedish language

Now i'm generally quite left leaning and welcome feminism and other social activist movements. But this is beyond ridiculous, mansplaining as a word is for me the equal to "PMS-bitch" being a legit word, which would never ever happen.

But according to the Swedish language council it's from now on a word ending up in the Swedish dictionary. What's your take on this word? Am i in the wrong to compare it to "PMS-bitch"?

Sweden is lost forever, It would be better if we could just put a great wall around the country and wait for it to implode.

I like the word. Whenever I see someone being accused of mansplaining, I instantly know that he is right. It is the easiest way to figure out who resorts to logic and arguments and who is in need for a word to dismiss that logic without any good reason.

Official language institutions sometimes put stupid/useless words to their word database. It's nothing new. If you don't like it, don't use it. If it becomes popular, then though luck because that's what social dynamics converged to.

About as stupid as, SJW, Bigot, Racist, Fearmonger, Xenophobia etc.. All pointless words people us against people that dont agree with their current views and agenda.

It's more about the whole political reason to acknowledge it. Mansplaining is literally used when you dismiss someones reasoning because of gender. It's nothing that should be in a national dictionary.

Oh no, a new word. We're doomed.

What do they list the definition as OP? So far as I know, it means a man explains something that goes against a pseudofeminist belief so she handwaves it away as "mansplaining".

Politics has nothing to do with it. Language is an organic body of communication, new words are coined to explain new phenomena or to serve as shorthands for other meanings. If a word is popular enough it often gets recognized as a new word, and this is an entirely public process - words don't need to be recognized by any authority to be used.

I don't get why it has to be associated with men if that's the definition. Women explain plenty of things in a condescending or patronizing manner. Is femsplaining going to be a word soon? lol
