Question What if Blizz removed enemy nameplates from PvP/

What would it be like without being able to click enemy name plates, or see people behind objects because of them?

Awful. Can't fathom how people can play without enemy name plates in PvP

Id be fine with terrain obscuring nameplates (if you cant see their toon, you shouldnt be able to click on their nameplate, sure) but otherwise? No. would be unplayable. A land of Goblins and Gnomes as far as the eye could see, with Noggenfogger.

This. It's fucking awful to watch a someone play without them on (only one I've actually watched would be Mercader). Melee is a cluster fuck at the best of times, without nameplates it'd be down-right unplayable. If they removed them everyone would roll gnome and use noggen foggers.

i don't use them, i do not need it.

you can rotate them with the enemy tab button and use arena focus macros 1,2,3

i am puzzled why anyone would click in pvp, too....?

only use of it is to show enemy class and hostile chars behind an object like a pillar.

... not all PvP is contained in the Dethmatchbawks

I have no clue either. But I know a few people that have those disabled. And they are 2,2k+ up to Glad. *shrug* seems to be a personal preference.

Now imagine random BGs. Usually muted unless someone is raging against everything for random whatever fail. Imagine if there is no map to see where your team is where the flag goes etc. You would have to engage into actual verbal communication and play as a team to win.

My best ashran games where those with the bug. People actually used the special flares to show location of fighting in the map and communicated. While nameplates hidden can break the game I think making the map less interactive in pvp could actually work.
Seriously? It certainly does not break my game to play without nameplates.

Because by the time you cycle through 8+ enemies, the guy were trying to switch to to interrupt got his spell off. Thus my statement - not all PvP is in a little box with only 2 or 3 enemies to choose from.

You can change the options to target neareast enemy player, rather than any enemy, sure, but even if you do, you'd need to swap back to "nearest enemy" if you do PvE, even if it's just Tanaan, unless you want to click on every single PvE enemy. "Nearest enemy [player]" can also be highly unintelligent, and target some target you don't care about. Indeed, PvErs hate this function. If you're melee, it targets something out of range, a target you've already dealt with (say for DotS) or a target that isn't even in combat.

If I'm playing warlock, I also want to get that Immolate on a hunter's pet, or a Havoc, to help me get embers. Regardless of having "target nearest enemy" and "target nearest enemy player" it will get messy if I want to switch between the hunter or the pet without the healthbars. I even have enemy health bars with colors, so I better can know what class I'm dealing with. Tab targetting or mousing over would be too inefficient, even more so when the box in the lower right corner sometimes disppear.

At the end of the day, you play how you want. You best knows what works for you, but I feel I could confidently state that the majority of WoW's playerbase do prefer their enemy health bars.

At least it could become an Esport as it would become entertaining to watch.

Think I've only seen it once, in a Youtube video, but yeh, it's a preferrence, but I suppose the "no enemy health bars" club doesn't have too many members I would seriously struggle without enemy healthbars though

So basically you're saying that pressing Tab 4 to 5 times and waiting every time to see if it got the right target is faster than 1 click? ok bro good for you
Or maybe you seem to play only 2v2.

no, seems you cannot read a bit of text and i am not your bro, Mr. Mouseclicker.

In short i am using arena focus 1,2,3 and battleground targets in rbgs, enemy tab button in random pvp and it works everytime i might add instantly, must be magic, having no trouble at all to find my target in 1 sec without clicking there as usually there is no target to call out for in unrated pvp.

I still do not necessarly need nameplates to be able to target anything, it might be needed to see behind obstacles, but i almost play this game with eyes closed because i play since arenas came out in BC. Saying your problems here aren't my problems.

All they need to do is completely fix nameplates to hide for players behind walls / structures.
