At what point should a moderator/admin/webcare team be demoted/fired/dealt with?

Theres countless and numerous forums and chatrooms around and ofcourse they need some balance, some oversight etc. But it too often happens a webcare team goes out of bounds, is rude to a customer or an administrator abusing power like claiming keycodes etc. for whatever reason.

At what point do you believe someone working for an internet forum / discussion board or a chatroom is no longer fit for the job? Does someone have to ban alot of people without reason? Should he be demoted the first time he calls someone an asshole? Or should he steal financials before being deemed unfit? etc.

I can't imagine this is aimed at anything except for the global team and the General Off Topic mods.

We understand that there are some posters who dislike certain moderators or feel that those moderators have taken actions they shouldn't have. Come to us, the global team, and we'll discuss it. You can also appeal any infraction you've received; just PM a moderator and an appeal will be set up for you. Derailing threads or posting new threads to complain or harass a moderator over their actions will not be tolerated.
