Amy Schumer and "Parallel Thinking"

So in the newest entry of "Amy Schumer steals other people's material," she was recently on the Jim Norton show to profess her innocence, talking about the insane similarities between her jokes and other comedian's being just "parallel thinking."

Somebody took the liberty of pairing up the jokes to see just how "parallel" her thinking was.



So, what do you think? "Parallel Thinking" time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time or is she stealing jokes?

Sure, some of the jokes are similar premises, but others (Like the Patrice O'Neil one) seems nearly verbatim.

Comedians are writers and steal jokes all the time. The problem is when they do it without permission or completely steal some else's act,see Carlos Mancia. Even worse (see Mancia) when their original bits aren't funny.

Why are people suddenly going after this lady any way? If she isn't funny then let her fall into obscurity like so many before her. You don't have to like/support every entertainer out there.

Because's she incredibly popular and people in the media are acting as if she's the newest gigantic thing?

The idea that it's ok she's ripping off jokes because it's happened before is nonsensical to me.

I use to go to the comedy club a lot and 2 different guys had the exact same material... I don't know if they are friends or one was a theif, I am not even talking about similarity I mean exactly, I already knew all the punchlines.

I'm so disappointed in little Jimmy for defending her. O&A + Jimmy gave Mencia the benefit of the doubt to an extent when he was accused of joke stealing, but when the evidence was overwhelming they bashed him relentlessly. But Jimmy has been attached at the hip to Amy forever, and will defend her to the death in the face of overwhelming evidence. He really is a whore, as he admits.
Edit: The truly disgusting part is that she stole jokes from Patrice, whom Jimmy loved and Patrice loved him, and he STILL won't call her out and gives her a platform to make excuses. Patrice would have never given her the time of day if he were alive and she was stealing Norton's bits

I am not a fan of her. I feel the media pushes her too much and I feel that I just dont see whats so great. She is alright I guess, but if you want female comedians, Tina Fey (well she is more of a comedy writer), Samantha B., Jessica Williams, and Kristen Schaal are very good.

At least Mencia eventually had the balls to admit to stealing jokes in that documentary, and still had a semblance of a career after.
