Because of posts like this. Let's not kid ourselves. People engage in PVP in any game(even ones designed around it) because killing actual players is more fun than killing computer opponents. No, there's no skill, but the fun or excitement doesn't always come from winning an engaging arena battle or BG. Sometimes, often times, it's not the victory at all that's fun. It's knowing somewhere out there, someone on the otherside of their PC just yelled "F**K!".

Also because it's fun and entertaining and cause you rolled on a pvp server. I hate getting killed on an alt, which is why it makes it so much fun to kill someone else. You know how bad it sucks, which is why it's so good to be on the winning side when the opportunity presents itself.

All PVP in the open world would be trolling, then. Corpse camping is trolling. Killing someone you run by is just fun because you can.

And really..unless you're getting corpse camped, it's at most a 15 second run from a GY. No need to remove it from the game. One must wonder if you're that sensitive to it, why not just play on a PVE server? It would suggest that you yourself enjoy random world PVP, and thus makes you hypocritical in this one

You don't understand, those who gank lowbies have no interest in fair fights or getting something out of it. All they want to do is troll people, and trolling someone is its own reward for these guys. They're the online version of school bullies.

When I do wpvp, I enjoy hunting down these guys and killing them over and over each time they dismount to kill some lowbies. You also get weirdos that even though they don't stand a chance against you, and they know it, because they're like level 90 or something and 1 shot lowbies in Hellfire Peninsula, they don't fuck off even when you killed them like the 20th time. Yes, the urge to troll is that strong.

There was this 96 tauren prot paladin ganking lowbies in Hellfire Peninsula, and I even lost count how many times I killed him at Zeth'Gol and the front of Honor Hold after he ganked some lowbies. But nope, he just wasn't leaving.

It's kinda disappointing when you see "random location is being attacked" and you know there is someone killing the quest giver npc and/or players around him, so you go there and it's like a really shitty geared female blood elf fury warrior, and you mop the floor with her. I actually want to have fair fights against geared and skilled opponents, not weirdos who hit Hellfire to gank lowbies. Bur sadly that's how it is in HFP, most of the baddies are noobtards in crap gear, and those that can put up a fight are always more than one, often even 5 of them healer included, so you can't tackle those and have no choice but to hover on the mount while they jerk off in HH with the npcs.

It does serve a purpose but its badly implemented. PvP like this makes it fun and exciting to level if its done right. However currently theres absolutely nothing lowbies can do except to run away if theyre rogues and get really lucky maybe.

They should make all town guards max level elites and be able to actually deal with a solo ganker instead of being a mere annoyance low levels that you can just AoE down.

Other than that, if you don't like world PvP, dont play on a PvP server.

It's crazy that's this is still a thing. It's been over 2 decades since the first lowbie got ganked in neverwinter. It's time to move on kids lolol.

But in WoW tho... crying about being ganked... in WoW. After all the changes and carebear fixes... I can't even. You aren't even flagged after bgs and stuff on pve servers anymore... how are you dying!? Unless this is a pvp server... if so life must be hard for you... not wanting to die... on a pvp server in an mmo... ????

I call bullshit on that! They are just a a myth. Surely if someone is clever enough to make such a post they are clever enough to find these mystical "PvE" servers you speak of.

Seriously though.. If you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen! World PVP is that. PVP in the world. You have to accept its a condition, and that Warcraft is not your big brother holding your hand while levelling so "the big bad men don't get you". If you want that treatment, there are plenty of PvE servers to pick from.

What's next, "I don't have PVP gear so PVP players shouldn't be able to kill me. It's unfair".

Just one small thing, I was level 80 in Tarais just farming some minerals back in WOTLK. A level 70 Mage comes along and attacks me. Obviously I kill him. And he comes back and tries again and I am like "wtf?!?" so I killed him again. Third time, him and his other Mage friends came along, all level 70, about 8-9 of them in level 70 BG gear killed me.... God I was ashamed but damn it did make me laugh!
