What If We Have Classic wPvP?

Nostalgia, memory lane, we all like how it feels .. So why not get instanced PvP based off old world wPvP favorites? From towns we all used to spend hours fighting in to world bosses guilds spent all night doing PvP just to be bale to down ...

Why not guild GvG maps (guild Vs guild) so the only way to join is to queue as a guild?

I mean look at other MMO's who came up with amazing world PvP idea .. if they had WoW it would have been amazing!

Why do we keep getting AV in a different name every expansion? We hate it!

    Thoughts?

Large-scale WPVP is good when there are no objectives, let the players dictate how and where to fight.

I'm pretty sure a GvG gamemode would never see play though. There is no community, and no competition between PvP guilds.

This will simply not work nowadays. Players mindsets are different from ten years ago. No reward = no participation. People will end up standing around in cities or simply unsub because they cannot get easily into the action. Its sad but thats how it has become.

I am somewhat certain that wPvP was abandoned because of instanced PvP, so I am not sure making the old wPvP zones into instanced zones will somehow make that community transition any less valid in why it was done (theory, it likely wasn't as good as people actually remember it to be, or simply it wasn't fun for that long). But I might be wrong, so it could be a possibility.

GvG, I don't see that ever becoming a thing, I don't think I have ever even heard the very mention of competing guilds within the PvP community, and eleven years is a little late to the party.

I think the success that other MMOs had with wPvP, was because that was specifically something that they focused quite heavily on, something that WoW could, but at this point likely wont.

servers are to lopsided, along with no incentive to go out and farm outside of dailies. Back in the day elemental fire farm spots ALWAYS was a hotspot. Now you have ?!?!. While the daily hubs would somewhat replace this, it doesn't account for with server transfers/mergers/ect have left most servers 80/20 population one way or another.

This "guild vs guild" zerg nonsense is not world pvp and never was.
World pvp in classic was 1v1s and 1vXs and, if you had a good friend, maybe some 2vX.

Here are some classic world PVP videos. Watch them. This is world PVP.
