Let's also ignore the fact that the US is basically just right wing and batshit crazy right wing.

There are very, very little "leftists" in america. Even Bernie is most undoubtedly centrist, and not left-wing.

Not that batshit crazy right wingers like Zombergy will ever acknowledge, because it would defeat all his flimsy arguments on a fundamental level.

The entire extreme right wing is about maximizing suffering to as many people as possible. Why are you surprised?

It's funny though, since that directly lines up with what their antithesis supports as well.

Before they cast the first stone and blame muslims for all the extremism around the world, they really need to reflect on themselves and see how similar they are to what they love to lambaste.

Yeah, remind me next time that poisoning the water of the state one governs for a bit of money and leaving soldiers imprisoned on foreign soil is not maximizing suffering to as many people as possible.

Yeah...that's how that's supposed to work though...The new President is sworn in as soon as humanly possible after the old president's death

One of the best things to happen to the country in a long time. He had been in office way too long and thought his opinion was more important then the law. Him not being in power anymore is good for everybody.

That's not the same thing. The single highest seat in American executive power, including military considerations, needed to be filled with the constitutionally-mandated replacement. That wasn't a political game, it was the process of government. It was a horrible situation, and the outfit she was wearing only further drove that home. It's not like his replacement had glee on his face as he took the oath of office.

In this case, someone who is functionally unnecessary to the continued existence of the judicial body to which he existed (the SCOTUS) means that some time can be taken to properly handle matters and (for those who wish to do so) mourn as necessary. But from the moment the news was confirmed, the political games and pustulating started. "We will block anyone who he nominates because the people deserve to be heard" is bullshit and everyonw knows it. The fact that they said it on the same day his body was even discovered says a lot, though most of that was already known, this just confirms it further.

So the extreme right wing talks to imaginary friends now?

That actually explains a lot of their actions.

I'm fully aware of that, was just another example to show how politics never rest regardless of the reasons why.

Yeah well, you keep talking about this "left wing", but the democrats are right wing, so what is this "left wing" you are referring to?

That isn't "playing politics" though...that's ensuring continuity of government. It's just not a very good comparison.

Except it's not comparable. The only way it would be equivalent is if somehow the SCotUS was reduced to less than 6 members, which would (presumably) trigger emergency protocols to fill vacancies to establish at least a quorum so the Court could legally function. Also, maintaining government function is different than playing politics.
