The deep web is almost what the internet used to look like before it got commercialised.

Lots of people's own web pages, poorly made, but interesting.
Lots of illegal stuff.
No commercial adverts
Etc
Etc


Or well, that's what the deep web used to look like anyway. As above poster stated, you've missed the boat, and it is getting highly regulated now.

The deepweb, darknet, whatever it's being called these days, has been around since the 90's, there's not really anything special/cool about it, it's just not very user friendly lol.

I guess its truer to say that the deep web is the internet, and the internet people use these days is the commercialised and regulated version of what the internet has always been.

Search engines are just one huge filter of what has always been there.

I've used it. No real reason to use it unless you are looking for illegal stuff.

I remember the cookbook something used to be on every other webpage back in those days. It taught you how to make bombs from household goods or something and could be downloaded from almost anywhere.

Posting a link to it these days would ensure prison time no doubt.

Never bothered reading it, but that's what the early internet looked like to me. Long before Microsoft bought hotmail and yahoo chat and MSN messenger and stuff like that even existed.
