Personally, I would have to say areas of 4chan such as /b/ the horrid hive of scum and villainy that comes out of there can rival just about anything else I can think of. Certain subreddits are pretty terrible also.

Yes and there are entire sites DEDICATED to that kind of stuff. 4chan has other stuff. People act like 4chan is the dumping ground of the internet but unless you go on /b/ or /pol/ the site isn't that horrible. Go on /a/ or /v/ or /vg/. It's not that much worse than MMO champion on those boards.
