Question Anyone else in my shoes with the Legion System Requirements?

Okay, so a little background. I've played WoW casually on my Laptop with no issue for almost 2 years. When Legion was first announced, I waited to pre-order it, and I did as soon as it became available. However, with the Legion System Requirements being released, it turns out my Laptop can't run it. So I'm apparently stuck with a game I paid for but can't use. Is anyone else in this situation? Does anyone know if Blizzard has a return policy regarding this of some sort(I highly doubt they do).

Note: Please no responses like "Upgrade your system" or "Get a new PC". My current financial situation doesn't allow for this. Barely allows for me to pay for WoW itself.

Did you use your lvl 100 boost or the mount/pet (assuming collector edition) you got? If yes, probably no way of getting your money back.

You should be able to get a refund. Players that cancelled there wod preorders were able to. Just the characters that got boosted were reverted back to there original levels.

This is woefully inaccurate. You can in fact request a refund after using the boost. I did. It just locks the boosted character.

Anyway, OP, if you can run WoD, you can very likely run Legion. The minimum requirements do leave some wiggle room.

Pretty much what I'm thinking. The average computer now can run Legion just fine.

Blizzard said if you can play Warlords of Draenor, then you will have no problem playing Legion.

They did not say that. They in fact said that the requirements are higher.

Hell, my potato from 2009 can play the game (it wasn't a potato in 2009 though). They aren't terribly high.

I don't read much on the refund policy though, but I'm sure there's a quick and easy page that tells you what's what on the blizz site
Shhhhh, she's doing magical trig bullshit trig substitutions

So you spent $70 on a game but can't spend $200 for a computer? You can literally build a brand new computer capable of running wow for $200....

Go to one of those internet cafes and play there or a friends? You can pay for your sub too with gold to save that bit of money

tbh i love that they go HIGHer and HIGHer, Imo keeep it going blizz. we want wow, but we also want better gfx. Will people with crappy PCs get lost in the run, Yes they will, but then they need to save up for a new pc, a exp get announced 1.5-2 years before release, so you got ALOT of time to save for new parts.

Guys, I have this computer from my grandpa, do you think Legion will work on it?

Oh come on, wow already has a shitty game engine with low requirements, if wow doesn't run that well, then how can you play anything else from this century?

You will be able to run it...except bigger raids etc ofc. So avoid any real "mmo" situations and you can play this mmo just fine.

WoW has extremely terrible optimization. You never know how it will turn out.

puts laptop users in a bit of a pickle jumping up to a minimum of intel hd 5000 graphics, pretty much any laptop under 14" with only integrated hd5000 graphics is around $1400 +. If you really need a laptop then I'd say go for one of the larger screen sizes with integrated graphics, older models should be cheap enough. I currently have an asus 13" s300ca with hd4000 which is on the lowest settings so it's not going to cut it, I use this when I'm at my girlfriends and get a chance to play, so for legion I plan to upgrade my current pc and make shift another from it's remains and move it into my girlfriends room.

I'm sort of in the same situation. I do barely meet the minimum requirements. I assume WoW will be fine to play, I've nothing against running it on the lowest settings, but if they had released the Reqs before the pre-order was open, I would've waited with purchasing it and tried to get alpha/beta to try it out first.

OP, what are your laptop's specs then? Might have to make some sort of guess on how well it will run if we know them.

When it comes to them setting their minimum to the Intel HD 5000, it's not like Intel HD 4000 is that far behind performance-wise. The HD4000 is also very common so they will end up having to support it whether they like it or not =o)

Just a suggestion - cancel wow and save up the money, to build / buy a new PC for Legion. I know it might suck, but what I understand is that you really really want to play Legion - and if you are low on money you need to make a sacrifice to be able to play Legion.
But I wonder if the minimum req are for raiding, or just to quest ?
