    Leonardo DiCaprio, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Well for those of you who could not watch the Oscars. Here's what we've all been waiting for. As my friend put it, "Well, there goes half of the internet's memes." Lol.

Honestly, it is about fucking time. Guy nails role after role, should have more than one by now IMO.

Just as how it was about time Ennio Morricone won one. Leo is just one of the many few who have had 10 nominations without winning once like Peter O Toole. Its still a surprise to me Gary Oldman has only had one Oscar nomination

Should have been much more earlier. I saw the news like 30mins ago and was surprised not see a topic about him already. Good job. Finally.
Fucking nice speech by the way. last 2 sentences were awesome.

Hey, that's a pretty nice speech. Not too humble as to seem false and not too smug to come off as over reaching. Thanked people directly and used his time to share something important to him for the audience.

    Good for him.

I haven't seen the Revenant yet, so I can't comment on his performance in that.

Leonardo DiCaprio is a solid actor, but I feel like people vastly overrate him just because he takes nothing but serious Oscar-bait roles. Maybe he'll finally branch out now...

Meanwhile Johnny Depp and Robert Downey Jnr. still haven't won any :P

*Waiting for the internet mob to hate on him for talking about real problems in the world*

Very deserved. He was so calm and collected too but you could see him starting to crack up a bit.

The "oh yeah, we forgot about you" Oscars :P

It's a pity they couldn't retroactively give him one for the Good the Bad and the Ugly, which really deserved one.

DiCaprio has been deserving of an Oscar for a very long time now.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Ah, finally granted an Oscar? About time, really, he's done a deserving before. And it'll hopefully kill some stupid memes.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

Grats to him, but the Revenant was still supremely overrated.

I really enjoyed DiCaprio in Catch Me If You Can and The Wolf of Wallstreet. The latter of which is a wonderfully comedic role.

As others have said its about damn time lol. The guy has been amazing for a decade+, in all sorts of roles. It was pretty much about time he edges one out, because if anyone deserved one its DiCaprio. I guess he broke the curse.

Honestly I think his role in Gilbert Grape was more deserving of an Oscar than anything since.

I feel bad that this is what he got his Oscar for, because Revenant was kind of terrible. The (human) villain was great, that single shot scene in the beginning was incredible... but overall it was meh. I saw it only recently and was kind of shocked that this was what everyone was positive he'd finally get his trophy from.

No. Even as someone who goes to see films weekly, the Revenant was only so-so.

Out of all of his films I probably enjoyed Inception the most, but in that he was playing a pretty standard role.

I can't say any of his performances have really wowed me. He's not bad, but even when he's in a film like Wolf of Wall Street where he's doing some serious acting, he gets outshone by other people in the cast (eg, Matthew McConaughey).

Exactly. Felt the same about Mad Max. Everyone was so highly praising it when it was really meh.

Better to take oscar bait roles ( which he doesn't anyway) than crappy romance movies and comedies void of humour like Depp, or cash-injcted comic book cash grabs like Robert Downey Jr.

Can't remember everything from that movie but isnt Matthew McConaughey barely present?
