InB4 Timmy is Jake's best buddy and a replacement for Oy, then Katheryn Winnick is either Susanna (Because casting appropriate actors is so last season) or Susan (Because they don't want to make a film where two 14yo's spend a majority of the time fucking).

Seriously though, he could be a "Real World" friend, from before Jake's "drawing" that they're increasing the part of. Still seems very odd though.

Well the thought had crossed my mind. Keep in mind it appears the majority of this film is taking place in real world New York as oppose to Mid World.

Yeah I had heard that... Why do they hate the Dark Tower so much?

    Why?

More news and possibly some first photos: http://www.denofgeek.us/movies/steph...s-release-date

We might have our first look at the Little Sisters of Eluria in The Dark Tower movie. South African prosthetics artist Chad Waller has revealed images on his Instagram of prosthetics for what he calls "demonic nuns."

The Little Sisters appear in the short story of the same name in King's collection Everything's Eventual. Taking place before the first book in the series, The Gunslinger, these nun-like nurses heal Roland after he's attacked by Slow Mutants only to reveal that they're actually vampires who feed on their patients once they've recovered. Of course, Waller calls them "demonic nuns," but that might just be a little misdirection.

    Jesus Christ...

Just once... ONCE! I'd like to hear something about this film that doesn't leave me angry and confused.

Looks like filming is underway in Capetown Africa.

The film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower has begun shooting and imagine our surprise when we heard this is taking place, not in in the US or New Zealand, but Cape Town, South Africa.

Actress Katheryn Winnick, whose role in the movie is not yet clear, posted several images to her Instagram account showing off some locales in Cape Town as well as (what looks to be) a trailer with The Dark Tower title printed on it.

He looks good. Costume is great and he wears it well.

Just a shame the plot sounds like a total clusterfuck.

It's a bit too clean all things considered. But it's not bad at all. Looks like he is wearing some 1873 colt peacemaker single action army revolvers.

Hmmm, this is something I just thought of when looking at these pictures, but it seems like Elba's hands are both going to be whole, so is Roland going to be a one hand shot, or a two hand shot?

Are the lobstrosities even going to be in this movie? I guess if Eddie isn't in this movie, he doesn't have to hand off one of his father's guns to Eddie.

Considering Eddie and Suze don't appear to be making the cut the whole one handed thing, another bafoonery cut to the original story, is out it seems.

Well Stephen King tweeted this earlier today:

    https://twitter.com/StephenKing/stat...rc=twsrc%5Etfw

So that confirms the rumor that Roland will indeed begin the movie with the Horn of Eld. I see only two reasons to do this. One, is to attempt to silence any complaints to changes made between the movie and the books and two, to give the movie series proper closure (assuming it makes it that far). I know many people dislike the ending to the books, but I thought it was pretty interesting.

I LOVED the end of the book, and I'm super pissed they're changing it for this clusterfuck of a movie.

Lol was reading through the responses to the tweet and someone was complaining about it spoiling the books. It's been 12 years!

Fuck a movie, this needs to be an HBO series. Only way it can be done properly.

  19. #299
That horn is apparently the game genie (for those that know what that is) of the dark tower series.

Can't create it proper like? Fuck it, hack it. What a let down.

I wonder if he's going to remember the previous go-arounds? I hope there's no "This is familiar" bullshit.

At this point, the movie is then just an adaptation of the books if it isn't actually following the events of the book. I guess it depends on how much you believe ka is a wheel, and that the events of these books are pre-destined.
