The American government never really cared about workers, we have a long history to show otherwise. Former worker protections were paid for in blood and sweat, which lead to mass Unionization and extended to everyone; however corporate and political will has been stripping these protections all over the country, all in the guise of worker "freedom".

The United States haven't even existed for 250 years yet, and Americans think they know how everything works. Capitalism breeds discontent, and will not work in the long run. A system where the richest just get richer and the poorest just get poorer will eventually collapse. In Europe, we have thousands of years of experience and history under our belt.

I think the main reason the US never gets in top-10 in such rankings is the amount of inequality here. There are both extremely rich and extremely poor people here, while, say, in Sweden or Norway the curve is much more steady, so there are few really poor and unhappy people there. If we measure some kind of "average happiness", the US would probably be among the top 5 countries or so; but these rankings are made in a bit different way.

We both already have mixed systems and enable more middle class lives than anywhere else. It's working fine.

The US implementing a Northern European style of socialism would mainly serve as a pull factor for massive amounts of migrants crossing the southern border. No thank you.

Not saying you would have to implement or adopt anything, you are your own country with your own structure and your own problems. Just saying that Europe has been through alot of shit, and maybe sometimes you should take lesson from that.

Practically all are socialistic countries or hybrids. Suck it capitalism!
Are you sure you know what socialism and capitalism are? Most of those countries are countries that are both socialist (the government's actions favor the people over the companies) and capitalist (money is given for services rendered and products sold). Those are not opposites, nor even related. One is a perspective of government, and the other is a monetary system.
