I grew up on video games... I suppose that I can be rather violent if I ever wanted to. Especially so since I have a collection of weapons as well as carry several concealed weapons on me in addition to knowing a variety of martial arts... *Shrugs*

You mean online video games right? Cuz, I don't find any competitiveness in single player games.

OT: Nah, I grew up playing video games (including violent ones) and I don't find myself violent towards other people.

If it weren't for video games I'd have been a lot more violent, when I first started doing IT support I'd go home and do some Duke Nukem 3d and Nascar (loved going the wrong way on the track and see how many I could take out) and to this day I really believe that release was the only thing that kept me from busting some people in the mouth back then.

Before video games, bored kids went and knocked over trash cans or got into other forms of real life trouble, having them shoot virtual people in video games is better.

Besides, if a kid becomes violent from playing games, either he/she's not 100% mentally stable or the parents completely failed.

You let your kids play a game where they beat a penguin with a club?

All science points towards the opposite, that games are an outlet.
