Well that's the last shred of hope gone for me. The new ad has put the nail in the coffin. This film is going to be a fucking film for 12 year olds. Listen to the music, the formulaic "comedy". Every beat in the new ad trailer is so god damn predictable. It's all just a cynical attempt to pull in more subs for WoW. This is a family friendly film about orcs versus humans and you can tell how little substance it's going to have. It's so god damn cringe-worthy. Where is the Warcraft feeling? What is with the damn generic action music? It's the most generic, vanilla, bland attempt I've ever seen. If I was going to make a trailer I'd start it off slow and atmospheric, with building music that actually pays homage to Warcraft/WoW tracks.

Judging by the trailers, I never got the notion that it was marketed for 12 years olds. Not every movie will appeal to everyone, so just don't watch it.

My thoughts exactly. If you don't like the movie that's fine, if you think it's childish that's fine, but it might actually suit you based on your post. Either way, I never got that vibe from any of the ads so far.

The things i dont like about the movie is that the gear/armour they wear looks so plastic, clothes to clean and unused/fake. flags/banners-same thing. houses looks fake to. well havent seen the movie yet so just have to wait and see.

Duncan himself said that the film was aimed at a 12+ audience but he also stated that theres "alot" you can get away with in a 12+ film, so who knows, the tone might be more mature than one thinks, however, since alot of us know Warcraft 1's story, this is obviously a dramatic retelling of said storyline with a completley new focus on new players and new canon.

To be fair to blizzard, Warcraft 1 is one of the few areas that remaking it with a completley new storyline isnt necessarily a bad thing, it was fairly bog standard and had alot of now retconned lore itself which frankly its not surpising they are changing things to make it fit in better.
