April J. Foster, 29, was arrested about 5 p.m. Friday in the 9200 block of Ward Parkway and charged with abuse of a police service animal. Foster was later released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on May 4.

Police had been searching for the woman who hit the horse.

The horse, named Dan, was hit while officers on horseback attempted to control protesters and keep them out of the street outside a Trump rally March 12 in downtown Kansas City at 13th and Main streets.

According to a police report, the woman had first screamed in the horse’s face to scare him. When that did not work, the report said, the woman hit the horse with her open hand.

After slapping the officer’s horse, the woman ran into the gathering of protesters — an estimated 200 people — and because of the size of the crowd, police said, they were unable to find her.

There's no excuse for her actions. She should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

And I think Trump is a misbegotten narcissist who'd lead the country into ruin. HOWEVER my exceptionally low opinion of him does not condone crap like this from people who might superficially be seen as having the same viewpoint as I do. Lawbreaking is lawbreaking and should be treated as such. "Expressing your viewpoint" doesn't give you a pass on abiding by laws (and how about a little courtesy and decency while we're at it, eh?)

You can express your opinion without breaking the law or endangering police (both two and four legged) as well as those who express an opinion different than yours. Doesn't matter which side of an issue you're on. If you want someone to take YOUR opinion seriously, then do the same for them. You can extend that courtesy/decency and still disagree.
