Well if you aren't from a country on the list then I imagine that you'd get automatically disqualified from the pool. Blizzard would probably use the country your BNET is listed as to remove those who aren't from those countries, for example. So whilst I don't think the region locking stuff matters I do beleive they will use other methods to restrict who can win to those countries.


[Side note: And what pisses me is that Australia is left off the list again and again. The only excuse given is laws yet WA, SA, TAS, QLD, NT and VIC have no requirements for contests where there is no value to the prizes (i.e. a beta key is worth nothing outside of promotional material). ACT wants a permit if over a set value and NSW wants a permit regardless - which is just a matter of applying to get. It's like the didn't bother to check the "laws" on online giveaways at all and we get screwed. Again. /endrant]
