it's explained right beneath the list of jobs lol

    for example

    Lack of available applicants 34%

Lack of technical competencies (hard skills) 24%

    Lack of experience 22%

Looking for more pay than is offered 12%

people are too lazy and uneducated and would rather ask for more money

I don't know why this surprises anyone, people are assholes

You know to some extent I do feel that it's unfair when people rail against "the banks" because what they're really talking about is a small handful of rich assholes who are in charge of everything, but not the armies of office drones running the whole operation who are doing some pretty boring and unfulfilling work and, while well paid, are hardly all living like CEOs.

LOL the secretaries that work at my clinic makes about $14 an hour starting. Its like $2 more then a burger flipper. Now im not gona dish on them because they are useful, but its a dime a dozen job. Hell its probably harder to find a good burger flipper that wont just miss all the time and shit.

Here it is basically akin to being someone's slave. If you're the slave to a fortune 500 CEO you might make something at or above 40k a year, however.

Yeah the work is boring, even analyst work. And they work you to the ground, 50-60 hour weeks are not unusual and for hedge funds/ibanking it can be significantly more than that.

There's a reason why I left finance for law school.

ZONK!. Wrong dude! At these banks (especially hedge funds) the algorithms run the thing. These big-ass traders are in decline.

Something that fuel the capitalistic system since years and which down under is totaly false. Meritocracy doesn't exist, for the simple reason that we don't start with the same assets.

Not everyone can afford to go to the best schools of their countries. Not everyone has the same educational and sane familial environment. Not everyone can rely on the support of its parents or its familly to go through difficults steps of life. Not everyone can afford to have higher degrees without having to contract a loan or to work during their studies. Not everyone can, after university, get a good internship or a good first job thanks to the network its parents have. Not everyone can start with a "small loan of 1 million dollars" from its parents. Not everyone can convince banks and investors to give them the money they need to start their companies.

To put it bluntly, a son born in a white rich family will have way more occasion to become rich than a black girl born from a poor family.

That's why socialism and wealth redistribution is necessary. Because the system is down root unfair and the people who gets the most are not the one who contributes the most to the wealth production. I'm not in favor of a communist system, because I'm more in favor of liberty and that kind of systems deprive people of their liberties. But a regulated capitalist system, where the ones who bring the capital don't get the biggest share of the produced wealth is mandatory to have a peaceful and happy society.

Socialism doesn't aim to promote not working or lazyness, it aims to reequilibrate the inequalities that are in ours societies. The point is not to promote not working, but to give to everyone a fair share of what the contribute to promote.

As an example for this unfairness, in France (I'm French by the way), the one who are the richer today aren't the one who created the companies. They are the descendant, childs and grandchilds of the ones who did the job. That's deeply unfair.
Good points. It's also good to see a view from people who are not Americans.

On your example from France of what I call 'rich freeloaders' - that's why we have the federal Estate Tax in the U.S. (but has seen attempts from Republicans to water it down).

Republicans like Pres. Herbert Hoover, no great friend of the downtrodden, had disdain for the "idle rich" and strongly supported breaking up large fortunes. Theodore Roosevelt, who was the first president to propose a steeply graduated tax on inheritances, was another: he said that the transmission of large wealth to young men "does not do them any real service and is of great and genuine detriment to the community at large.''

i always found funny how americans after years of cold war have so printed to their minds that socialism = evil/satan and yet all of them are living in the reverse socialism society, where instead of redistribution down (from rich to the poor) you have redistribution UP (from poor to rich). All that bullshit talk about "only lazy benefits from socialism" is just pure lunacy, look at europe, Australia, or any sane country, right amount of redistribution of wealth can make society happier, can make life easier, can make streets safer. While in 'murica you are so affraid of conncept that you will rather force young boys from poor families to go to army for college ed./ force them to take huge loans that will make their start as adult unnecesarly hard, then force top 1% to pay goddamn taxes. And it shows year after year the disparity in wages are higher and higher this HAS to end poorly for you. I know because historically we had same problems in Europe, and what it taught us was that when to many people consider themselves "poor" it inevetibly leads to ghettos, high crime rate, anarchy and ultimately revolution

I just pray its not the future of any nation, or humanity.

This little piece of platitude sounds good whenever someone says they have a college education but can't find a good paying job, but then it turned out that useless fields of study made up a fraction of a percent of all degrees, and that people were having a harder time finding higher paying jobs with what were once considered desirable degrees.

Even being a doctor these days has gotten much more difficult when it comes to earning money, as most hospitals and clinics have cut down the number of doctors they have on staff to the bare minimum required, since RN's do pretty much the same thing as most doctors and you can pay them a fraction of what you pay full PhD doctors.

Pretty much anyone with an IQ over 80 can get a BA degree, not so with an EE degree. The usefulness of what is learned is vastly different as well.

Why are businesses lazy and looking for the easy way out? They want the most money for the least amount of work. Such assholes!

You are grossly overstating the cognitive requirements for an engineering degree. Not that it matters, as we cannot have a functioning economy where everyone is an electrical engineer.
