More MMOs were out when WoW game out. Your only argument that players are more demanding is time. Trying to redicule my thought process doesn't make yours anymore valid, nay, even a counter argument.



All the different MMOs that existed before WoW, and this could have some even missing since it was just a quick Wikipedia link.

Also, I'm sorry you had AOL. Never personally experienced, but as a kid I had friends who did and I hated being on the internet at their house. We use to go in the backyard with those AOL CDs that got sent to you in the mail and throw them over the house and laugh for some reason when we heard them hit the street. Kids will be kids I guess and laugh at dumb stuff..... LOL

Nice work, can we get a corrected list of MMORPG's that are in the same vicinity of WoW: design, style, questing, structure, playstyle? I know you responded in the very literal sense of every style of MMO (anything multiplayer that for its day counted as massive), but I think it's clear he was specifically talking about MMORPGs in the vein of WoW/Everquest/Guild Wars/Runescape.

Lol, you have it backwards. Vanilla is the Super Mega Candy Crush Blitz Mode. Vanilla WoW was so much more difficult than today's iteration. Hit rating was important, spirit, mp5, Defense, etc.

But I understand your comparison you were getting at.

If they (Blizz or Nostralius) were to open an official (or officially supported) vanilla server, I'd revisit the past. No doubt about that.

I was saying more that vanilla was fairly basic without all the extra bells and whistles and extra pay options and facebook/twitter/whatever tacked on. Sometimes I enjoy playing a game, and not playing social media funhouse game.

If your 1 idea of a fun game is vanilla WoW it might be time to take up a different hobby. Not saying it's bad you enjoy it, but there's a plethora of fun games in the world. Having fun is one thing, but if having fun is against the law or impeding on another person, property, or thing's basic rights and liberties or civil rights then I wouldn't do it, with the exception of potentially saving another's life.
Some people might want to batter the crap out of your mom for fun, but why should they concern themselves with the law or any legal rights? They just want to have fun, right?

Not legally, but good luck with that mentality. Actually, let me rephrase, you own the game, so feel free to play retail in its current, true form, which is where we are right now. If you HAVE to play vanilla, I hope you have fun playing a knock off, illegal version that can get shut down at a moments notice from getting too much attention.

Windfury proccing off of itself was pretty uncommon. Also, if you think Windfury is the most overpowered thing in vanilla...top kek m8.



Vanilla is not WoD. In Vanilla, you cannot hit level 60 and be raiding naxx in 1 week. Vanilla actually requires time and effort to progress through the raid tiers. Hell, just getting to 60 in the first place can take 2-3 months, unless you play 4 or 5 hours every day.

On Nostalrius, there were lots of guilds at different levels of progression, and that was with just MC and BWL released.

And on the current WOTLK server I'm playing right now, it's only up to ToC, and there's still lots of people spamming global chat with "LFG naxx" and such.

As long as new players are continuously coming to the server, there will never be any majority "burnout".

well didn't think it was the most overpowered i just found it fun when it happened. Mowed Through a T2 pally that tried to gank me once
and well ya i wasn't saying it would take only a week. was saying some time in the future i remember how long it took to level. been playing since 3/13/2006 myself =P
