Did you know that if you're poor, uneducated, and old, you're much more likely to enjoy well-done meat?

You're missing out. Though to be fair I'm selective of where I'll order medium well, otherwise well done.

In my experience, the raise or the popularity of the double cheeseburger is more about how much meat is on the burger than not. When I was younger, there weren't many places that served double cheeseburgers, however, most meat patties at places then were already half-pound patties or larger to begin with.

"Well done" should be considered a crime.

Or atleast rename it to "you fucked up" or "I don't trust this place, so please kill the meat to reduce the risk of dying".

Having two patties increses the surface of the Maillard reaction which creates the aromatic compounds giving taste to the meat.

One does not simply just not like cheese on a burger. I'm triggered and I need a safe place.

Other than the difficulties and cook time required to cook a double thick paddy, logistically its easier for them to just produce and cook one size paddy then double up for people want more meat.

A gram of uncooked myoglobin is roughly 4 calories. A gram of cooked (oxidized) myoglobin is still roughly 4 calories. Cooked food generally increases the calories, strangely enough. The human body uses more energy to digest raw food than cooked food, so you gain less calories from it.

I can see the mental thing, though.
