why would she leave? this country does literally nothing to enforce the immigration law... so why bother leaving? you seem like a cool guy on the forums so i doubt she left the country just to avoid you, but maybe :P

Thanks for the compliment. She's fairly conservative and very much a "good girl." She wouldn't dream of overstaying her visa. But it wouldn't matter if she did. She's a lawyer, and there's no bar organization in the country that will allow an illegal immigrant to practice law, and no law firm that will hire a paralegal that doesn't have a work visa.

Plenty of Americans not eligible to vote have counted on the census since the founding of the Republic.

Children, Women, non-Whites, non-property owning whites, black people (at that time slaves) have all been counted (mostly) by the censuses when they were or are not eligible.

I find myself agreeing with you. And this makes me uncomfortable.

But yeah, the fact that it was unanimous with even the literalists agreeing says something about the stupidity of the challenge. (
