A Mom Posts a Disturbing Video of Her Son Being Paddled at School

All 3 of these women should be in jail...

    http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor...at_school.html

A disturbing video is going viral on Facebook of two Monticello, GA elementary school employees about to use a paddle to spank a distressed boy. What makes the harrowing scene even more disturbing is that his mother is the one behind the camera, while her son cries out for help.

On Facebook the mother, Shana Marie Perez, explains:

they told me if he could not get a paddling he would have to be suspended and if he got suspended for even one day I WILL go to jail for truancy... Jasper county made me do this... I could not go to jail or my kids would have nothing ... I can't take care of my kids in jail... And I was not texting I was recording this... I couldn't do anything to stop them.

they should just suspend the kid and send the mom to jail, would be the safer option for the school employees

    Georgia (and many Southern states):

"Bind them with great stones, and cast them into hither water vessel!"

"If they succumb, they are truly with Incubus! May God have mercy upon their wretched, heathen souls!"

And you thought it was 2016...

What a shit tier parent. She lets them hit her kid as punishment for being the asshole that she taught him to be to avoid going to jail for already being a shitty parent.

The video is disturbing....why, exactly? Because the kid cried? Kids cry over frivolous nonsense all the time, and are master manipulators. Crying does not and should not exclude one from punishment. I cried sometimes when my dad pulled out his belt; was that disturbing? My dad should have gone to jail? Maybe some of the morons on this website will say yes, but wait until you read what I did. I was trolling people in 5th grade by bringing medication and claiming it was Viagra. One of the kids had a reaction to the medication and ended up in the hospital. I deserved, and received the biggest whooping of my life. It didn't injure me, just perhaps my pride.

I do find it difficult to believe the mom would be threatened with jailtime unless she literally kept the kid home 1/4 of the time. Maybe the kid cries and manipulates her into letting him stay home very often. Either way, the paddling did not cause any injury to the child. To claim the women deserve jailtime over paddling him for a presumed offense worth paddling, is rather pathetic.

Whoopty do, one smack from a paddle, who cares?. They should run the woman and her kid out of town, obviously she doesn't belong there.

Children in Georgia are required to attend school from ages 6 to 16. Georgia defines truancy as five unexcused absences over the course of a single school year. Parents and guardians can be charged with a misdemeanor for each unexcused absence after that, punishable by fines of $25-$100, imprisonment of up to 30 days, community service, or a combination of those penalties.

What did the kid do? But from the description in the OP I feel bad for the kid but laugh at the stupidity of the adults. The mom takes it and then says that she couldn't do anything because the kid would be charged for truancy for being suspended? Even if you could be charged for truancy for being suspended, certainly not at that age (for the record you can't be charged for such a thing).

The old lady telling the kid to "be a man"...
Moms saying she couldn't do anything about it...
I was spanked as a kid but my mom would be damned before she even let a teacher grab me by the wrist.

I hope this little guy knocked out a teacher or something because even if paddling was an acceptable form of punishment, who could do it after this kid was absolutely terrified? Threaten him with the rod the first time, hit him with it a second, there won't be a third .

It takes a special brand of crazy for a person to think that beating a defenseless kid is the right thing to do.

    "beating" implies injury.

I think it earned the kid enough emotional injuries.

Why would she go to jail for truancy, having to stay home to take care of her child is a legitimate reason, where did she get the idea she'd go to jail? What am I missing?

your post/link doesn't verify the legitimacy of their threat of truancy. being suspended is not an unexcused absence.

Oh please kids are a lot tougher then you think. 5 minutes later he would have forgotten the whole thing.

This is nothing I went to a Catholic school and the nuns would hit your hands with a yard stick. Didn't take me more than once to follow the rules from then on.

People who coddle their children and worship them when they act like little shits are the real scum. In this situation I think there are to many people to dish out this punishment and it doesn't require an audience. Heck I have seen parents baby their children so much that even when I'm at work if a child is screwing with expensive products they get in my face when I in a nonaggressive tone ask them to please put the item back.

That rule about jail time seems weird, it says 5 unexcused absences, however isn't being suspended counted as excused? Like the school is telling you not to come for a day that seems excused to me.

My link was to show that parents can face jail time due to their child being truant, not the threat of a suspension being counted as a truancy.
