I remember in the 85 or 86 ish one, I was in Maryland, the cicadas had a bunch of different eye colors. We would trade them.
*shrug* they don't last long enough to be a problem IMO. Lived around a couple hatchings of them. Meh.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.
Just, be kind.
oh hey, just learned that a cicada actually can hurt you.
they can mistake your arm or whatever for a tree, and pierce you with their thing they use to drink sap. apparently, it hurts. they don't do it in defense or aggression, only when they have calmed down and realize they don't have to flee.
I remember cicadas to be loud and harmless. There are more creepy things out there. Really.

If builders built houses the way programmers built programs, the first woodpecker to come along would destroy civilization. - Weinberg's 2nd law
He seeks them here, he seeks them there, he seeks those lupins everywhere!
They make a god damned mess on your windshield.
Meh, I always like them when I was a kid. You could use their molts as the bad guys and have enemies for your lego armies to fight. Now the sound they make just reminds me of childhood playing with legos.
Peace is a lie. There is only passion. Through passion I gain strength. Through strength I gain power.
Through power I gain victory. Through victory my chains are broken. The Force shall set me free.
