Rape Culture is not a real thing, so stop saying it is. Im honestly not going to bother explaining why it isn't a real thing in this thread because it is long and very controversial topic with many angles to explain, and if i dont do it properly the feminazis will come after me.
As for the HBO series Game Of Thrones it's quite simple acturally. HBO is a paid television service and they are completely in their rights to show pretty much whatever they want. They do not have the same restrictions as ordinary cable TV so they are allowed to cuss, have nudity etc and have very few limitations in general.
As a viewer of Game of Thrones which happens to be one of my favourite shows, i will start by reminding everyone of two very important things, ONE being that what the viewer sees is a TELEVISION SHOW, ITS NOT ACTURALLY REAL YOU GUYS! Secondly i would like to remind you that NOONE is forcing anyone to watch the show. You acturally have to go out of your way to watch it, so i would suggest that the people who find it offensive simply abstain from watching it and quit complainting about a fictional show that shouldn't be compared to the real world. This entire "social responsibility" debate is absolutely ludacris. To me it seems like the stuff we had to endure 5-10 years ago with video games and how they all lead to the columbine murders and if you draw these conclusions you are a moron.
One last thing about Game of Thrones; Yes it's violent, Yes there are whores and no they aren't always women. There are strong men in the series, there are strong women in the series. There are different characters in the show and their strengths and weaknesses are not tied to their gender.
TLDR: If you are "triggered" by watching the violent show "Game of Thrones" don't watch it, and don't tell all of the people who like it that it is "socially irresponsable" to show it on a paid service, nobody is forcing anybody to watch anything.
This one goes out to the feminazis: Fuck off :>

Fucking hell, are you unbanned again? SIGH.
What ever makes these women (these rape culture bullshit nutjobs) mad is fine with me.

I remember watching the rape episode of All in the Family, and my grandpa telling me when it first aired there was a disclaimer about the episode. My mom and her siblings were actually not allowed to watch the episode. That show was applauded for being so ahead of its time.

There is even a Canada chapter for you to join.
It may not be "all over the world" but they exist.
It's simple. We kill all men.
In case of Jaime we have both D&D and Martin himself saying it wasn't rape. But maybe they are the Night King to the rape apologists' White Walkers and are leading the army.
Unless the part about stopping watching GoT was also supposed to be sarcasm, then I don't really see it. Plus we already had Protar espousing the same exact mentality earlier in the thread (minus the not watching GoT anymore; or Theon, because who cares about torture) and I'm the Queen of England if he was sarcastic about it. Though I suppose it could have been a mockery of that, but since it's basically a copy-paste, then Poe's Law certainly applies and it's no wonder people would be confused.
Seems like someone wanted to make sure to be the first one outraged about the newest season, preemptively even. Shocking
Given there is no such thing as "rape culture" I am not sure how much of a discussion we can have on the topic.

[...] we have an intolerance for ideas and evidence that don’t fit a certain ideology. I’m also not saying that we should restrict people to certain gender roles; I’m advocating for quite the opposite: treat people as individuals, not as just another member of their group (tribalism)..
SJW's and millenials just can't get enough of complaining about made up things on the internet can they?
I feel like the person you are quoting is an absolute moron.
I feel like you are a sheepish moron for giving him any validity by regurgitating his garbage and posing even more moronic questions like "is there enough control on these cable shows".
1. Instead of using the word "control" use the word censorship, because that is what you really mean. If you aren't just a massive troll lurking on these forums to post ignorant filth to bait people into responding to sheer lunacy then what you really want here is for some type of authority, most likely a government bureaucracy, to censor parts of entertainment you don't like.
2. GoT has put all types of violence on display - not just that evil and (for some reason) special "sexual violence". You do know men have been skinned alive, had their penises cut off, their balls cut off, their heads cut off, their skulls crushed, etc. Put me in a hypothetical where I either - A. Get Raped or - B. Get skinned alive or any of the other things I mentioned. I pick the rape every time. Sure, rape is bad blah blah blah blah but honestly in the grand scheme of the show and what's occurred it is fairly......meh. That is what makes TV great though.....it's TV....it's fake. No one was really raped, tortured, or murdered and it is all used to define a character's actions and experiences so we know who the good people are.
3. There is no rape culture. It's been proven over and over and your side of the argument just resorts to emotional appeal and illogical filth about one inaccurate study done by the CDC where things like an unwanted kiss was lumped together with RAPE to get us that infamous 1 out of every 5 college student statistic. It's demonstrably false. Not even close to correct. And every single objective minded, educated person knows it.

At least it'd be an improvement, unlike this topic in general.
On to a more serious note, art is one of if not the most effective way to bring light and discussion to any issue. Just because something is portrayed in art does not mean it condones it and saying other wise makes you blind and ignorant.

socially irresponsible? by showing it as horrible and violent? so the responsible way would be to maybe be happy about it? bad things happen to everyone in the show. People need to realise the world isn't about them and to keep your pet issues to yourself - stuff on a fictional tv show is not aimed at you.
