I'm not seeing the resemblance.
Is this a hidden Trump support thread?
Do you mean an African general who overthrew his government to become a dictator?

He was and if they had listened to him back in 1945 when we had our Army in Europe and the problems with Russia at that time, maybe it would be a better world today.

Enough of them to kick the shit out of the Axis powers.
Never heard of George Patton? I guess you get a pass if you are not American.

Alas, war weariness.
End of WW2 USA vs End of WW2 Soviet Union...that would have dragged the war for a few more years.
But maybe worth it, since the USSR was just as bad as Nazi Germany.
Was he considered great? I've heard of him but wasn't he fucking mental? Like "Doesn't matter if all our guys die as long as all their guys die" mental?
First thing I heard about him was he was reknowned for entering battle with 2 pistols, which is cool Good to put a face to the name I guess

So we learned that lesson and we are going to listen to the Donald now?
Pretty manly face. You can see determination in their eyes.
Clinton for sure don't look like that(like someone with mission to make something great), the only women she can resemble are the ones from desperate housewives/sex & the city.

I think the US would have rolled over Russia in short order. They only beat Germany because Hitler sucked as a military leader and ignored his very good generals. They were horrified he would open up another war front when they still were at war with England. Plus remember, we supplied Russia with a lot of military stuff to help them beat Germany. But this is of course speculation and as before, I could be wrong.

Na. He would have respected Trump, same as Putin does.
The quote I heard from him, is "It not about dying for your country, but making the other guy die for his".
I think he was an "all in" kinda guy and he whipped some lagging parts of the military into shape with his no excuses style. I'm not sure you can be a Great war general" and be concerned about being popular and listening to everyone talk about their feelings.
I think you can be a great military general and still be on the wrong side of the war
Patton dominated strategy involving armored warfare. He was very keen on it. Patton has a number of remarkable feats. And no, he didn't have that mentality.
The only real negative thing people remember about Patton is he slapped a soldier or two suffering from PTSD. Patton was a bit old fashioned.
If Patton didn't get punished for that and screwed by the allies, I think he would have walked into Berlin, instead of the Russians.
