Well Trump represents America... meaning everyone in this thread is shamelessly victim blaming! Come on people, have some class!

The mechanism we would have to use is the WTO. There is no currency manipulation component with the WTO. As well the retaliation by the Chinese would raise costs of consumer goods in the US significantly. And of course the biggie American corporations benefit from the current system with it's cheaper labor pool.
What are we gonna do now? Taking off his turban, they said, is this man a Jew?
'Cause they're working for the clampdown
They put up a poster saying we earn more than you!
When we're working for the clampdown
We will teach our twisted speech To the young believers
We will train our blue-eyed men To be young believers
“Do not lose time on daily trivialities. Do not dwell on petty detail. For all of these things melt away and drift apart within the obscure traffic of time. Live well and live broadly. You are alive and living now. Now is the envy of all of the dead.” ~ Emily3, World of Tomorrow

Yeah. Totally ignored.and it's been getting ignored for decades now. Trump is the only politician who even brings it up anymore. The rest of them gave up years ago.
Eat yo vegetables
China wants to keep their currency cheap because they export a lot, that's also beneficial to us consumers as it keeps goods cheaper to buy.
Because Trump, in this case, is like a guy saying "Slavery is wrong, and nobody should ever suffer that way", while at the same time being a major player in the international human trafficking industry. You can't pretend that he actually believes what he's saying, because he doesn't do it, himself. It's a lie that he thinks people want to hear.
If he really felt that China was treating Americans so unfairly in trade, he wouldn't be trading with them. Except that he is. Which means he's a liar.
A BA in Economics. A BA is not a particularly high level of academic achievement. If you can regurgitate stuff you read, you can earn a BA. It doesn't require much in the way of critical thinking or analysis.
I do think that China is an important issue to most people, but the problem is that the average voter is so uninformed about China that they'd look like experts by comparison on things like immigration and terrorism. Yeah, every so often there will be some public outrage over Tibet or lead in toothpaste, but for the most part the public discourse on China is restricted to self-important policy wonks who have difficulty getting all their grand geopolitical designs to resonate with the average Joe Blow. For example, that whole issue of currency manipulation has in the last few year done a complete 360 and walk away, but idiots like Trump and his supporters don't recognize that and, perhaps more damningly, won't even take the two seconds to google some articles to get the facts on it.
