Miss again. Turkish parliament actually vetoed logistic help for USA. American army did not station in Turkey.

    *AHEM*

By late December 1990, there was already a formidable arsenal of USAFE airpower deployed to Turkey: 20 F-111Es, 24 F-16Cs, 10 F-15Cs, and 4 SAC KC-135s. These aircraft were in Turkey for various reasons including rotational training, a NATO exercise, and NATO alert duty, but remained under control of their respective home units. Eventually more than 100 USAFE aircraft and 2,600 personnel deployed to Incirlik. However, if Turkey approved the task force's activation, Joint Task Force Proven Force could absorb all of these assets and the others it required.

The Turkish government finally approved the JTF on 15 January 1991. The following day, USAFE activated the Wing and began the command's largest Desert Shield deployment, bringing the total number of aircraft at Incirlik to 110. However, it was not until 17 January, the first day of Desert Storm, that Turkey approved operations from Incirlik. Therefore, JTF Proven Force entered the war on Day Two.
    Guess you missed again?

Are we talking about the first or the second Iraq Invasion? I was strictly talking about the second one, which all logistic help for USA was vetoed.

well Iran's airforce did splendid job against the Iraqi air force. infact the most successful F-14 pilot in history is an Iranian. despite the fact that alot of F-14s were sabotaged by american and Iranian (loyal to the Shah) engineers before their escape from Iran during the revolution.

the war dragged on because Iran's leadership was stupid and fanatical about capturing Karbala and other parts of Iraq, it's one thing to defend your country from a foreign invasion, and another thing to attack another country. Iran did well during the early years of the war but when they started to go into the offense their losses started to pile up. mostly due to the international support that was behind Iraq and Iran's wearing military equipment and manforce.

We are speaking general terms here everything can not be bad, did they gain air superior? yes no? if they did it they was bad at using it, like coordinated ground support tp allow a major breakthrough.

Well, the Iraqi airforce, who had around three or four times more aircraft (flyable) than Iran was never able to achieve air superiority.
