The Britons would be Celts yes,

No they wouldn't. The Celts never settled in Britain or Ireland. Roman writing clearly points as the Brittanics as a completely seperate people as the Gauls that are in present french borders, or the Celtic tribes in modern day borders of Switzerland and Austria. The sole reason the term Celt came up was in the 17th or 18th century as a means to unite Welsh, Scottish and Irish against a dominant English growth on the Islands and nothing more. When studies are done on people from the Islands it is clear it is closest to basques than anyone else.

The Romans had poor knowledge of Linguistics. I go with the current Linguistic definition of a Celt, and actually with Barry Cunliffe's research that would show that yes, the peoples of the Atlantic Sea Coast are of Basque genetic relation, but linguistically and culturally they shared the culture and language we call Celtic. More over it confirms the earlier Greek writings which described the Celts as an Atlantic coastal people and a far Western people. The Britons were different but Linguistically they spoke a Celtic language related to the Gallic language(s) and Celtiberian ect.
