Okay so decided to roll a Hunter, I am liking the looks of both BM and MM, just curious which spec would be useful for solo/questing and possibly dungeons (No heirlooms) and what were the best pets to choose?
MM is pretty much able to one shot just about everything for the first 10 levels or so, granted that is with heirlooms. It is also a more simple rotation than BM, for better or worse depending on your playstyle.
As far as pets go, it really doesn't matter all that much. The last hunter I leveled I used a turtle, which has a shield it activates when near death. That saved me against some of the harder quests later on more than a few times, but I couldn't imagine it is the end all be all to questing pets.
I guess something tanky would be best, turtle, bear, etc etc.
