Likely so! There may not be anything dysfunctional about this girl. It may simply be she grew up in an environment that did not view sex in a more conservative (so to speak) light. It is also possible she was not some 'nymphomaniac" either, but just a sexually voracious teenager.

Maybe the teen girl does have deeper issues- quite common, so it reasonable to a degree to speculate as such. However, I personally feel it is somewhat problematic to label this girl either a victim, mentally impaired (making a bad judgement /= having psychological issues), having low self esteem or whathaveyou given the reportage we have available.

No, lol. My parents were just not very conservative and openly discussed sex with us (the dos and donts/biology) as a natural process and act. My mom is somewhat of a "hippy" artist, bisexual and married my dad who was way older. My dad was fairly practical, rational and didn't really sugar coat things unnecessarily. They were fairly liberal or progressive as well- both atheists, well educated, New Yorkers, wealthy, lived through the 60s and 70s, etc.

For example- we didn't grow up believing babies were brought by the stork in our family. I knew men & women had sex to make babies from like the 2nd grade or something because I recall explaining to the other kids how babies were made. Without the stork thing, of course. I knew women had periods way before I ever had mine. I knew sometimes men had sex with men and it was "in the butt" as my younger self would phrase it. Et cetera.

A fair number of people do grow up in America with a less reserved view of sex and sexuality than our puritanical heritage suggests.

Going off of the story alone, it seems like she was fine with it and wasn't hurt in anyway.

That's my biggest concern, I just hope she isn't somehow being coerced to corroborate her story. Also I'm worried she'll get harassed constantly. You'll get those boys who think since she consented to a gangbang that she'll be willing to have sex with them despite her saying no.

Of course I also think we need to stop assuming teenagers won't have sex if we tell them not to. There are still schools in the US that teach abstinence-only sex education, which is bullshit. I was amazed when I took a human sexuality class in college, the amount of people who didn't know what, or where the clitoris was, or what fallopian tubes are, or how to properly put a condom on, or how to acquire different forms of contraception. People shouldn't be learning this stuff only after reaching adulthood. We should be teaching them when they're going to be the most curious about it which is high school at the latest.
