Would you play WoW if it didn't have raiding?

I've been playing WoW since early BC, and have raided every expansion in the hardest difficulty possible. After seeing how raiding turned out in WoD, I really would care less if I raided again, as long as their was meaningful ways outside of raiding to advance my character.

If Blizzard took out instanced raiding, but had:

    Mythic+ dungeons
    Crafting
    World Bosses
    "Hard" quests/world events

... I would still play it and probably like it more than how it is now. How does everyone else feel? Does raiding still feel as "epic" as it did 5+ years ago? I could really picture myself doing hard 5-man Mythic dungeons, hunting down rare items to craft powerful gear, and doing world bosses to advance my character.

Never truly raided, even when it was relevant, so yes.

A better question is, "Would you play Chess if it didn't have pieces?"

And the answer is a resounding no.

No. The raiding is the only thing I play WoW for. No raiding = insant quit

Would it still have stories and rewards? Maybe break the dungeons into a raid-like experience anyway (UBRS, Strat, HoT)?

    Yeah, I would.

I used to think like that, but lately I'm having a hard time finding like-minded people to play/raid with. Most of the guilds I see have carries in them, and I refuse to play with people that allow it. I know I'm an elitist, but the raiding scene is terrible right now. People are just bad and/or don't care about how they perform in raids.

Yes exactly. Bring back the "awesome" raiding experience to dungeons. If I had a solid dungeon group to play with all the time, I would be totally satisfied. I don't need 19 other people to make me happy, but thats just my opinion.

It wouldn't work without raids Oondasta is proof of that. The hard world bosses would just become a giant phased mess. Without hard large scale group content the game will not feel like an mmo. I think CRZ would have to go for your idea to have a chance.

Raiding is not the entire set of chess pieces and it is asinine to say that which is part of the problem of how we got to where we are now. It would be like playing chess but removing the knights.

It is hard for me to imagine how should Blizzard tune the 5 mans and world quests/events, so that they offer the same level of difficulty as hardcore raiding.

    So no.

There are more interesting singleplayer games to play than WoW.
There are more challenging small team multiplayer games to play.

WoW for me was always about big raids.

    Definite no.

Mythic+ dungeons keep scaling in difficulty (indefinitely?). The better you are, the better gear you get. The more "hardcore" you are, the further you can progress. Seems good to me.

    A tank? Sure!

OT EDIT: Holy crap, will be shocked if "yes" stays above 40%, even though I said yes.

Just like the chess analogy, this one doesn't really pertain to the question at hand. A better question might be, "would you drive a car that didn't have a CD player?"

I'd also be curious to see what expansion people started in that answered 'no'. I'd bet money that they started during Cata or later.

Question is how would you scale that?
Just the sheer numbers? It'd be boring, since it'll just be an ilvl race (remember all the enrage dps races we had before, where you just need to gear up to down the boss).
And adding new mechanics can't be unlimited.

And a 5 man environment does limit the developer with the amount of mechanics that might be implemented to the fight.

I'd never play WoW without raiding. Not now, not 11 years ago.

The vast vast majority of players already do

Haven't raided since Naxx in WotLK, and I have maintained an active sub till now. There is plenty to do without raiding or arenas ect.
