How can people possibly be so bad at this game?

I've been attempting to pug a successful Heroic Archimonde about 10 times this week on my 714 Resto Druid. Obviously, not one of these groups have succeeded and, within them, I have encounter well over 100 unique players. I have outhealed numerous other classes with far superior ilvl to mine as well as with full set bonuses, I have been turned down from a number of pugs because my ilvl is "too shitty" or I'm "lying about my Mythic Archimonde achievement", I have seen a number of different strategies implemented. Nothing. It doesn't matter. I watch raid leaders fill the raid with 720+ players and the fucking Infernals don't die, people take 5+ stacks of Doomfire, people don't kill the Living Shadows, people don't use their abilities correctly, some people never break shackles, some people break them all at the same time despite weak healing. It's a fucking nightmare.

People are so fucking bad, it's fucking pathetic. I can now see why people pay me tens of thousands of gold to carry them repeatedly through H Arch just so they don't have to be involved in the sort of business I have regrettably involved myself in this week.

He's not even that hard of a boss.

    Its simple.

Apart from the boosting its simply a group filled with "I got carried" players.

In every group/kill there is at least 1-2 people that have no idea what happened or are mediocare at best, they shouldnt be in that group fight..But eventually it died..so they got the achievement and so on.

In the end the number of those people becomes massive that instead of 1-2 there are 5-10 in groups.

Its RNG, luck of the draw whether you get 1-2 of them and actually kill something or you get 5-10 of them and simply wipe forever.

Its the same thing i saw at SoO what you just described and why i decided "I will just raid 4-6 hours a week instead of trying 30 hours a week with randoms".

It takes longer usually..around a couple/few weeks longer than with desperately trying to get a good group..but i am much calmer.

Here is what you're going to do. You're going to be the leader. You will start the group. You will invite those you prefer.

I prefer those with ring and 4set and achievement.

Ik that feeling and don't even get me started on these leaders who bring friends that pull 15-20k DPS and won't be removed.

I'm fortunate that I have the experience and ability to lead a group. However, not many people would be able to take themselves out of queuing for H Arch and make their own group. Additionally, I've decided I'm just going to carry my alt instead. Much easier that way.

I feel ya, but saying it here gets you labeled some kind of elitist (as if taking a bit of pride in your performance and not dragging your group down is a bad thing)

I just tanked lfr for the satchel. People doing 12k dps with 3 stacks of the wipe buff. Good times.

I only pug archi with 730+ groups because the chances of wipes are pretty slim with mythic raiders. Occasionally the RL will try to sneak in a few carries. I usually don't give a crap if its just one or two lowbie carries b/c I just want my shot at WF class trinket. Groups that will take you at your ilvl will be a cluster and a waste of time.

Easier solution, join a guild doing mythics. Nothing too hardcore, the average "we're still wiping on gorefiend" guild would love to have a healer like you. As long as you show up to raid you will be showered with loot. Think about it this way. Is all the time you spend pugging and wiping on heroics worth the 25 dollars it takes to server xfer and join a mythic guild?

I figured a good red flag is when they have very high level and no tier items. I'm not into all classes but I doubt there are specs out there that aren't nerfed by that. In general it's very hard to find failure in a group with tier set and ring on most of them.

If you think this is bad, wait until Legion normals and mythic dungeons.

I can't wait to read the QQ.

people simply dont give enough of a shit to try.

A majority of the good playerbase is done with hfc or cbf. so youre left with the plebs who the good people carried through. sure thats a big over generalisation but i'm sure its partially true.

Pretty much what pug raiding is all about unless everyone is over-geared to a great degree. Which is probably why many avoid it like the plague.

Half of everyone is below average you know. Just because that average is thought to have a slightly higher floor in raiding doesn't mean that it's not true. Your post is a good drive-by ad for those that might be tempted to dip into all of this. I'm not tempted at all. It's one of the reasons why I can't be bothered with raiding any longer. Pugs suck. Guilds were broken by perks and trying to find a good fit is a special nightmare all its own given that you can only join one guild at a time, assuming they will let you in to start with. No thanks.

Because for expansion after expansion, they had no reason to get better.

That implies the prestige of doing mythic archimonde is identical to the prestige of doing LFR archimonde which is wrong.

don't look at extremes, basic 5mans have been faceroll since forever, even at the start of wod grim rall hardest feature was praying your group didn't stand in fire, and in short order was quickly a none vactor via gear increase.

And why would a majority of people push themselves for M archi, they have seen the content they are done (in their mind)

Nah man, WoD 5man difficulty was fine. MoP's heroics were embarassing though, they were almost like walkthroughs.

But, even that doesn't matter because of Challenge Mode. Challenge Mode was VERY important before raids started.

That's their mind. In the mind of many others doing LFR is not any serious accomplishment. It's not very uncommon to find people that want something more, I don't think you need an Einstein mind in people for them to realize there is more prestige in doing mythic than LFR.

This implies that prestige is important. Outside of personal satisfaction--which is the reason to be doing anything in the game--prestige is a very thin commodity. If you want real prestige, get a reputation on your server for being helpful, pleasant and a great player to do something with. Outside of a very small group of people, raid kills carry very little in the way prestige. Especially at the end of an expansion.

If you want to do something, do it for yourself without the expectation that anyone else will really give a damn.

We are all truly impressed with how awesome you are, seriously too. "People are so bad, it's fucking pathetic"...what I kind of find a bit more pathetic is people who take a game so seriously, to the point where they have to make public posts about how much better they are at pressing some buttons than other people. Don't even pretend this wasn't a thinly veiled attempt at trying making yourself look awesome. At this point in WoW's history is it honestly a surprise there is a lot of people who aren't that great at raiding?

Stop taking this so serious, it's not pathetic to suck at a game. You are not awesome at every single thing you do in life.

No, it just means millions of people are horrible at World of Warcraft.

Because you're pugging. There's a group of people who join in, hoping for a one shot on the backs of everyone else, or just flat out don't know the mechanics and don't care to know. People are their absolute worst in pugs.

And you're right, Archimonde isn't hard. Neither was Garrosh, but people fucked it up right up til WoD was released (and they STILL die to his smash in the vision phase).
