I was being more shortterm with the posting history. Scotland and N. Ireland more emphatically voted to stay; and it was Wales and mostly NE England which were adamantly wanting to exit. And that may cause further issues regarding Scotland and N.Ireland remaining in the UK which is what he was writing.

European Parliament is the only directly-elected body of the European Union.

The European Parliament is pointless because it's not the only legislative body of the EU.

It's bicameral system, so you got the council and the parliament acting as tandem. The council always has to wait for the parliament. You can count on the fact that this is the procedure for the vast majority of laws.

Oh, my point was not that Farage is evil. He's a harmless village idiot. My point was that people believed him. Every single lie he told them. Every bullshit he promised. They believed all of it. They gobbled it up all in the name of nationalism and British pride. He could probably have sold them just about anything under the promise of "Making Britain free again". Ignoring the fact, of course, that Britain was and is free all along.

We're lucky that he is as incompetent in politics as a 4 year old. Other people (Hitler) would've used that kind of influence and power over the masses to do a lot more damage than he already did. And let's not kid ourselves, he and Johnson and the whole Brexit movement, they did cause damage.
