Now that the movie's been out for a few days and people are able to go and see it, I figured a poll might be interesting to see how it stacks up to feedback elsewhere. Self-explanatory. If you've seen it, give it a rating...

Of course, you could also be an edgy edgelord and give it a very low or very high score even if you haven't seen it; I can't stop you, if lying about movies you haven't seen on the internet is your "thing".

Here's my take from another thread:

Saw it tonight with my brother. I'm a long-time WoW player, only played WC3 from the RTS side. My brother has only played WoW briefly (subbed recently), never played the RTS games and barely follows the lore at all in WoW (during the movie he asked me if child-Varian was Tirion "the Paladin")

The reviewers and critics have it totally wrong on this one. Whatever the reason for their hate boner and trying to make it sound like a Uwe Boll movie, they're full of shit. Both of us enjoyed it. Some of the acting is patchy with the human characters... Lothar has some good moments and some bad moments, and he comes off kinda angsty even when he's being cool fighting stuff. A couple of side characters aren't that great either... but they're also not on screen that much. The effects overall are really awesome, the Orcs are awesome, the battles are awesome, the magic is awesome (I honestly wish there was more of it) and translated really well. Garona, Khadgar, and Medivh were all fine.

Overall, I'd give it a solid 7/10. If they could patch up the weaker human performances for next time and match the rest of it in terms of CGI and cool-factor, I'd give it 8.

Metacritic isn't even showing user reviews yet, just the horrible 'professional' reviews. Reading them makes me think they went in wanting it to be bad, and didn't pay any attention during the movie. Or they didn't get a big enough bribe for a good review.

Why critics will shit on it? The CGI is terrible. Everyone complains about how cliche the writing is with WoW, and the movie is basically a cliche, it has no profound depth, like it ACTS like it does. And all the fans know how the story plays out.

So why WOULDN'T critics shit on the film?

I might go see it, or have someone I know and trust go see it and then report back. But as of right now, I suspect the movie will be hackneyed, the CGI does look horrible. Same reason I haven't seen Avatar, I just don't like those over the top CGI shit.

I dont think the Hobbit movies are that bad they just had way too much to live up to. Lord of the Rings was a cinematic masterpiece and won 17 Oscars kinda hard to follow that act.

LotR will haunt the fantasy film genre for a century. People will still hold it as the standard long after we are all dead.

except...the quality of the CGI is literally the one thing every review i've come across, across the board, agrees is amazing. Same goes with Avatar...

So I'm guessing it's just your opinion and you simply straight don't like CGI in films.
