    Are you an Organ Donor

Sorry to bring up a morbid but important subject.

Have any of you nice people ticked the box on your Drivers License
or told your next of kin that you wish to donate your Organs should you die.

In Australia, we check a small box on our drivers license if you wish to donate your Organs.

However, I do not know how it is done in the USA or other countries.

Is it mandatory to donate your organs?

Is it against your religion to donate your organs?

Are you in anyway against Organ donation?

Would you like to save a life by donating your Liver or Heart to someone who needs it?

I am. I also donate blood frequently as I'm AB+ which means I'm a universal plasma donor.

The system is pretty much the same -- When you apply for a DL or renew it they'll ask if you want to be an organ donor.

I am. I see no reason why I shouldn't donate my organs when I die, it's not like I'm gonna use them myself.

I am. When I'm dead I wont need my organs anymore so if they are still good why not use them to safe a life / extend someones life.

Every Welsh citizen, and anyone that has lived in Wales for over 12 months, is automatically an organ donor as of December 2015. We have a deemed consent/opt-out system here.

Under the soft opt out system, if you have not registered a clear organ donation decision (opt-in or opt-out), you will be treated as having no objection to being an organ donor. This is called ‘deemed consent'.
I have not opted out, and never will.

There's a lot more than just hearts and livers that can be donated.

On topic, yeah I am a donor.

I ride a street bike and people in hospitals at times refer to us as organ donors, so sure! :P

nope, in the U.S. it's purely voluntary. but I am a donor, cause why the fuck not, I'm dead.

By all means, take my body and use it for someone's surgery or for educational purposes. Go crazy. I'd rather die knowing my body is being used practically than take up space in the ground to rot.

Yes, I am, and I also donate platelets every month or two.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

I am. There's no reason to keep them when you're dead, and I'm fairly certain any deity would give you a free pass for losing some of your original parts if they were helping somebody else, so harvest away!

I am a registered donor except for my eyes, I have a weird thing about eyes and people can live with being blind so nuts to them.

Yes I see no reason not to.

No,in fact if the box isn't checked they shit can your organs

Is it against your religion to donate your organs?
N/A Agnostic atheist so no imaginary friends to tell me not to.
Are you in anyway against Organ donation?
No, you have to be a selfish person to not want want your death to possibly save someone else.
Would you like to save a life by donating your Liver or Heart to someone who needs it?
Yes, doubt they would take my heart but my liver should be A-ok

I'm planning on jumping into a vat of molten metal anyway, so there'll be no donating.

I really want to, but I'm scared off by the stories of people who have retained some level of consciousness/ability to feel pain through the operation. It's not like I'll have any need for the organs, it's purely selfish paranoia.

I'd also really like to donate blood, but I have a horrible phobia of needles. Maybe when I'm out of college debt I'll donate money regularly instead, I still want to help somehow.
